I'm going Saturday, looking forward to it - although not nearly as much as I'm looking forward to beating the Crowbots!

How does Melbourne and Saints get a Friday night and we don't.

I think simply having Bont in our team will guarantee a few Friday night games next year. That's my silly theory anyway.

How does Melbourne and Saints get a Friday night and we don't.

Just read the fixture and was amazed, Melbourne, Richmond and the Saints all get a Friday game prior to us.
I realise we were at the bottom of the pecking order on the previous years form but we have achieved a lot more than two of the sides and are just a step behind the other.
They talk about equality but it is just getting so much worse.

Look at the membership ladder and factor in the style of play we were putting up with under Macca. No wonder we get no love.

Absolutely, the way we played last year, the grinding force a stoppage tactics, no wonder we can't get decent billing this year.

It was tough watching that rubbish played. It was worse than under Rhode.

Lot of crap been thrown at McCartney on here ( yes he had his faults )
But the best aspect he brought to the table was the players hunting the ball.

Talk about flog a dead horse . McCartney left one legacy and Rohde with a better more experienced list left no legacy .

Was discussion this coach centric after we let go of Rhode? I mean seriously, surely it's time we let bygones be bygones, Eade is still a regular discussion point nearly half a decade later! I shudder to think we'll still be talking about Macca in 2019. The bloke developed some good kids, instilled a drafting culture that will bring success and laid the platform for a competitive brand of footy. That's enough for me.

How is any of this round four discussion? About other teams.

And the first to mention Macca is at another team came second to me.

Hogan is going to be some kind of player, already well on his way.

When playing Richmond you've got to allow for the extra 3 players on the ground. These guys are glorified cheats

It's incredible how well the umpires look after Richmond. Cotchin is the new Nick Riewoldt.

I heard Bruce say the umpiring has been great this year....

I would go with average at best.

Twodogs

They couldn't beat us with 22 players on the ground, and four of those were in charge of handing out the free kicks!

It seemed pretty much the same deal tonight. The umpires seemed to favour Richmond lot but the Tigers still couldn't get over the line. They had a lot of outs though. That's why I tipped Melbourne at first but changed it to Richmond in a moment of madness. That and I forgot the reason I'd picked Melbourne. In the first place.

I thought their skills against us and what I saw last night are very poor. Constantly missing targets by foot and turning the ball over.

Both Richmond and Carlton are showing the folly of trying to build with fringe players from other teams.

Grigg and Houli are both not the standard to take teams forward and Carlton have the same issue with taking players like Jones.

Watched the game after a late one ( well midnight's a late one for some of us;)
Melbourne took our game book in that they made the likes of Houli Grigg and a few others defend.
Richmond like playing an attacking free flowing game style that never wins finals, and when teams get their hands dirty, they get beat up.
Roos taught them how to defend last year, and copped a crap load of Critisism for a boring game style, and now they're beginning to bring other elements to their game .
Jesse Hogan and Tom Boyd are two different types of key forwards, as Hogan's a bash and crash forward that don't play past 30 .
We got our obligatory comparison last night

The Suns have spent most of the game standing watching the GWS boys run past them. Bring the mouth guard to training this week on the Gold Coast I'd say.

Greystache

Gold Coast are totally dysfunctional, they're comfortably the worst team in the AFL at the moment. They don't defend, don't want to win the hard ball, and just all run forward of the play waiting for someone to win it for them.

Hard to believe this time last year this same team was a potential top 4 team. They're getting a lesson from an ordinary GWS.

Freo hang on . Both games eerily similar :(
Freo looking to bank early wins where they can rest their senior core later in the year.
Port early were just superb ( when it counted) a mixture of fifth gear and hardness .
Brilliantly lead by Travis Boak.
Gotta love watching Port play

Freo and Adelaide looking dangerous and banking wins early in the season. I had them on the drop away list this year but they keep winning and winning well.

We'll see how Adeliade go today. They'll either will have stolen a one game break on the next bunch of teams and banked another win or will have levelled out with a bunch of teams on 3/1 (including us). I'll take number two, thanks Eddie. Lock it in!

Schulz is just a magnificent kick for goal.

I'd have been pretty happy to have him at the end of 2008 when the first rumblings about his discontent surfaced.

He'd look pretty good in our forward line with Boyd, Crameri and Stringer.

We thought we got the short end of the stick umpire-wise, the free kick count is 16-6 Norths say down at the Cattery ATM.
