Wonderful job done by the development coaches, and they really are the unsung heroes .
Having our own Vfl side has been absolutely massive as well.
We also had 13 players with 50 games or less yesterday, and that is a testement to the coaches and the young players .
Not wishing to take the jam out of anyone's donut, but carrying that many kids is going to be hard to sustain that form.
The clubs in great hands and that seeds are sewn for a long period of success

Thanks Remi.

Amazing we won considering 13 players with less than 50 games. Wonder how that stacks up against the crows line up?

Until last year I'd only been to 1 other VFL match (to see Scott West play for Willi Seagulls in his last match - not that we knew it then).

I'm loving watching the Dogs at WO and agree the foundations set by the VFL are helping us out immeasurably in marketing to old 'Scray fans, player development, grooming good coaches. There was a chap who called up SEN yesterday evening and he'd been with the club in some capacity in the '80's and was using the same term "unsung heroes" behind the scenes - he specifically mentioned Maple and Hansen.

And don't forget Monty. It must have been awfully tempting to leave after missing out on the main gig but he put the footy club in front of himself (not for the first time) and stayed on to help the new coach.

The Footscray VFL side gives us the structure to properly develop the younger players and effectively rotate the Seniors , just the 2014 season alone probably advanced some players more in one year than two with a VFL affiliate , and Chris Maple , Stewart Edge and Ashley Hansen and the Footscray Football Dept also had an accelerated development . The current Coaching Departments for the VFL and AFL sides would not have the current structure if the Club hadn't pushed hard to launch the Footscray VFL side . The VFL Premiership was just rewards for everyone involved , and the continuing developments programs for both the VFL and AFL sides has given Luke Beveridge a tremendous platform on which to build the Clubs future , it's a point possibly missed by the majority of the media .

8. St Kilda had the most this weekend with 14. Collingwood had 12 which shows how well they are going as too.

Crows had 8 players with 100 games or more - we had 3.

These stats are on the Footywire website by the way.

He will do a great job. I think he's been a huge asset for us over many years
