And they just keep rolling in.

Some great pics in this one, good also to see Boydy giving it to the big Canadian.

I like the tone of the article but there are some sloppy errors in it. Hrovat, not Picken, kicked it to the boundary. And Wood handballed to JJ, not Jong, in the final play - pretty inexcusable errors before going to print to be honest.

Robbo highlights the last 3 minutes. This guy from the ABC the last 4 minutes. Reminds of the hitchhiker from "Something about Mary" that wants to release the "7 minute abs workout" to knock off the "8 minute abs folk"

I am still shaking my head how Wood got up so high to kick the winning goal. Amazing athleticism. Let's not forget Murphy's ducking and weaving and long kick into the forward line and Dahl's snap from nowhere for Wood to run on to.

Would the ball have gone through anyway? Wood seemed to kick it right on the line. Not forgetting it was a great snap by Dahl.

Dahl's kick was touched.

I'm not sure it was. That said if Wood hadn't kicked it, it would have been touched for sure as the ball was moving so slowly so he had to kick it either way

I didn't think so when I saw the replay. I think it squeezed though

Look again. Dahl's kick was clearly touched.

I invite you to watch again. It looks to me that it was not touched but scraped past the armpit

That armpit changed the motion of the ball.

Dahl didn't seem to think it was touched. He said something along the lines of Woody 'stealing his goal' in his presser the other day.

The ball is slightly smothered as Dahl Kicks it. You can see the ball deviating as the Swans players hands come down.

I count six Swans players he is shielding the ball from.

Well, if I had to pick one player in a foot-race, it would be a certain Mr E. Wood. Damn, that one handed pick up in the wet was sublime.

Brilliant pick up, dry weather footy in the wet.

Imagine if he fluffed it, oh my Rohan was ready to pounce. There's a fine line between genius and idiot and it's usually separated by success. Most backs would have soccered and chased to the boundary, which probably would have been enough.

Just on Rohan watch him behind Boyd on the half back line, the boy has some toe for the closing minutes of slog fest. between the half back and half forward line he's well behind Boyd, catches him and then burns him off by 5 metres, Boydy actually tries to retard him on the way through and then thinks better of it.

Not a bad player Rohan.

Good points. With two men on his tail, I think he had to pick it up. They are brutal on deliberate these days, and if he did, one would have scragged him in the chase while the other was free to get possession. Good work Easton.

Did the umpire call touched? I don't know. If he didn't and it across the line without being touched it would be hard to overturn based on the evidence in that footage.

Watching the game live on a big screen the guy standing next to me said the kick had been touched.

120% touched.

infinity% not touched.

That's right schoolyard arguments, mofos

It looks to me that it comes straight off the outside of the boot and doesn't deviate at all. At this point it's basically the white and gold dress picture of footy, you see whatever your brain decides you see when it interprets the information from your eye and it's not going to be the same as everyone else.

What amazes me is that Wood wasn't even nominated for goal of the week.

If you see the height he jumps from the point of take off ie with hardly a run up, its amazing.

They are just popularity contests now, skill level or difficulty doesn't even come into it anymore.
Lost me when Capper with won Mark of the Year with a chokehold and Ablett when he hardly touched the ball.
And don't start me on how Bonts didn't win goal of the year last year!:eek:

That's ridiculous! It was showy, spectacular, extraordinarily athletic and it came at a crucial moment to help win the game. What the hell more would you have to do to get a nomination??
