What a week for Marcus Bontempelli. Now being voted the best young player in the game by AFL Coaches.

Bevo comment: "Behind closed doors, he's an even better bloke than how he comes across."

Final votes:

557 - Bontompelli
527 - Cripps
362 - McGovern

Pity I can't have two Avatars. I'd indulge in another Bontigraph.

Well we all expected him to win a Brownlow this year didn't we? Massive disappointment.

I'm amazed Cripps got so close.

Just another industry award. He's doing well without popular and easily manipulated awards.

Signs to 2019, tops our Brownlow and then wins this. Not a bad 3 days work from Bonts.

What's the criteria?

What's the criteria?

I understand it to be the coaches voting based on the first two years of a players career. Presumably all the second year players who came through the 2013 draft. So he was up against Cripps, Taylor, McGovern, Boyd, Kelly, Billings etc.

McGovern 3rd, even though he spent two years as a rookie prior to making it to the main list. Interesting how they let that criteria slip by

Criteria is simply any player who is first year or second year on a senior list. Started in 2003. Fair list of winners; Judd, Wells, Cooney, Griffen, Pendlebury, J.Selwood, Rioli, S.Hill, Fyfe, Heppell, Cameron, Bontempelli.

Good eye for talent some of those coaches. I am very bullish about the Bont and our wider list moving forward.

My wife thinks I have a crush on The Bont, well he's not helping me to quash that suggestion when he keeps winning awards and stuff.

It's the quality of the possessions that counts.

I'm sure you're being tongue in cheek, at least I hope so because Hogan is a gun.

A freind of mine saw the Bont today shopping with his sister he was on crutches, had minor hip surgery and will be right for pre season, his opinion is we are a lot closer to a grand final than people think, love the optimism.
