Woofers, i need some advice.

Ive happily acquired a Footscray team of the century guernsey, its pretty damn cool. Amongst its many features is Teds signature on one side and a spot for the Doug signature on the other.

How best do we think i can get DH to sign this?

I am in Adelaide but heading to Melbs for work on the 26th of may and staying until the 29th to watch the dogs vs pies at the G with an MCC member.

He's coaching the Cobras under 18 team again this year you'd have more luck going down on game day or to training than calling the club or his management company.

I dont suppose you have a link to the Cobras U18 fixture?

No my Cousin's son plays for them I just have a hard copy fixture. Here's the next two. Let me know when you're in Melb's and I'll post up the info for you. Doug is always approachable, a sig won't be an issue provided it's post-game.

Jump on the train at Southern Cross

The 9.15 am from Southern Cross Station will get you to Melton during the first quarter. It's a 5 min taxi ride to the McPherson Reserve from the train station. I also found a fixture for the under 18 Cobras.

Perhaps you could ring the club [Bacchus Marsh] during that week to ensure Doug will be coaching at the ground on that day.

Happy to help.

Thanks mate! I did try the dogs:

Hi Marco,

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately Doug Hawkins does not visit the Club on a regular basis and it is the Western Bulldogs policy that we do not accept items for signatures for past and present players.

Unfortunately we are unable to help with your request.

Regards,

Go Dogs!!

My son just mentioned to me that Doug works on roadside gangs these days holding up the Stop/Go signs so if you see some roadworks give the guy with the sign a good look because it might just be the Hawk!

My son also said that Doug said if anyone says "hey, are you Doug Hawkins?" when he is working he usually says "no" because after he said yes the first couple of times there were nearly car accidents with people wanting selfies and autographs. Apparantly the middle of the road isn't the best place for that sort of stuff.

Let him know it's not for resale (i.e. you want it for your own enjoyment rather than to flog it off) and I'm sure he'll sign it. Every single encounter I've ever had with Dougie has been a great one.
