Just read an article on the Bont which started off about him being the youngest captain to win a game and it went into his figures over last year and this year .. If he isn't in Brownlow contention I have no idea on football and why haven't the media mentioned him ??

Hope this works , just scroll down a little

Duped of the rising star and goal of the year in his first year. Had 'second year' blues which should have had him in the initial AA squad. Media also seem to want to run with Cripps is better. Bonts is in career best form by all measures. The media not talking it up, in the context above, is not a big surprise really.

The AFL.com Brownlow predictor has Bonti on 8 votes, 4 behind Parker and Dangerfield on 12, so he is in the hunt. They actually have Lachie Hunter leading the dogs votes on 10.

That article you have linked to has originally come from the AFL website so the media are taking note.

I remember when they first started running "Cripps > Bont", the week before the Carlton game. Then Bont kicked 3 in 15 minutes on him and took the rest of the game off covering injuries up forward because (unlike other players in this particular comparison) he's versatile enough to.

Both The Bont and Lachie would be great chances for the Charli.

The brownlow predictor has Hunter on 10 and Bont on 8, considering that the most anyone is on is 12 or 13 then it's actually fairly open depending on how the rest of the year goes.

I think of it in the umpires mind , he has had 4 games with 30 touches, most are in the middle of packs and his disposal with those over the head handballs in close is truely amazing, then all of a sudden he is on the end of a mark up forward, can't see how am umpire wouldn't give him a lot of votes during the year.

Hunter I find is very good at reading the play and certainly knocks up great figures but quite a few are out the back and kicking backwards or receiving because blokes like the Bont and Libber have got the ball out of the inside packs.

I imagine Bont would be noticed a lot more in an umpires view.

He's always there. If he hasn't got the ball then he's snatching at the bloke with it.

Then when the ball gets kicked forward he marks it and kicks a goal. He's a machine.

Positive article from Barrett, but he still has to get a jealous dig in at Boyd.

He is truly pathetic with this raging hard on he has for us.

This "someone said a rude word to poor innocent Michael Talia as they hefted him out the door" schtick got old months ago.

Sounds like his motivation is more complicated than we realised

Barrett and Bevo are FAR from the best of friends. Bit of history there. Enough said. Thus, the "hard on" that someone observed Barrett has for Bevo.
