Some fairly average names there that read like token entries: Marty Gleeson, Fantasia, Vlastuin, Dean Kent, Lincoln McCarthy.

Or Heeney or Petracca! Despite Stringer not having as good a year as 2015 he has still been better than those 3.

As good as Daniel is I would still have Macrae ahead of him at this stage.

You can at least make a case for the other two being in the team. Fantasia, not so much. Jake had as much influence on the game as Fantasia did this week and he wasn't even playing!

He's still got 37 goals as well which for most U22 players is pretty damn good.

How is Petracca in the squad as a forward? Probably plays less forward than Bont and doesn't even kick a goal a game

How does Daniel get overlooked for, Martin, Membrey, Wines, Heeney, Petracca, and even Stringer? He at least had better seasons than any of them and in my view should have been in the first half a dozen chosen.

Isn't this done as part of the players association, so essentially picked by the players.

If I'm not mistaken this one is another of those joke awards. Unless it's changed I'm sure the final 22 are based on votes submitted by anyone wanting to cast a vote via social media - akin to the Logies.

How does Jack Martin make the team? He's shown almost nothing at AFL level. The fact he got in ahead of Caleb Daniel is even more laughable. Petracca hasn't done much more than Martin either.

DD, did you cast your votes on Twitter and Facebook etc for Caleb like the Suns Marketing Dept probably did for Jack Martin ? It's understandable when it's based simply on a public vote.
