This will go down in folklore. Crazy brave. We don't win this finals series without him, and he's going to suffer immense pain for this flag and for us members. You just can't love him anymore.

Dale Morris is beyond heroic - an absolute legend of our Club. His tackle on Buddy Franklin will become part of Bulldog folklore.

He landed very heavily on his back in the first quarter too.

What a man.

Dale's courage to play with significant injury throughout his career has been beyond phenomenal.

Can't think of many who deserve to call themselves premiership players more than him.

Thank-you Dale

First qtr when he got upended by Rohan in a marking contest and landed flat on his back - to get up from that with what we know now is the stuff of legend.

Really? Who made that call?

It was an article in afl.com.au http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-01/beveridge-saved-veteran-duos-career-club-president-reveals?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=RSS+feed%3A+AFL+Latest+News

..."The president spoke for over 30 minutes and touched on a number of topics in the post-Grand Final function at Melbourne Convention Centre on Saturday night.

Gordon said Bulldogs staff had been discussing the future of defenders Boyd and Morris midway through last year and had plans to discard both, with some keen to pursue a longer-term plan, before Beveridge stepped in.

Beveridge's argument was the Dogs had a chance to win a flag and shouldn't cut players who could contribute, even if they were over 30.

"There were one or two blokes over the age of 30 that the red line had been put through," Gordon said.

"'Bevo' had been pretty quiet during the whole meeting but at one point he said, 'Jase' (list manager Jason McCartney), I just don't believe in this sort of stuff (premiership windows). I need you to know that there are a few guys on that list who can actually make really important contributions for us in the next couple of years'.

"There are no prizes for guessing who I'm talking about. I'm talking about Matthew Boyd and I'm talking about Dale Morris."" ...

I usually like a coach to be a little at arms length on player contracts, but Bevo nailed both.

I found myself thinking of 2016 vs 1954 teams. There are few direct comparisons but Dale Morris and Wally Donald makes me smile. Rolled gold champions.

What is Dale up to in the off season? Dale Morris visit thrills Mudcrabs juniors (https://www.whitsundaytimes.com.au/news/dale-morris-visit-thrills-mudcrabs-juniors/3117850/) included a quick clip of Dale.

Just after Dale spoils Buddy (which is a fantastic spoil) he grabs his right leg just for a split second. You can almost feel the pain, yet he sees Buddy start to takeoff and immediately puts his head down and chases. We all know what happens next!

Buddy has excellent takeoff speed, had Dale just hesitated under the pain I doubt he would've got him.

Unfortunately for Dale Morris he has a weakness, it is Kryptonite.

You could gather some evidence to argue that while JJ gained many more meters and had more touches that Moz had a bigger impact on the result. You could argue against that too.. Boyd and Picken could have shared it and I would have been really happy. They are all heroes!
