The club will release this in a few days but I believe as a replacement game we aren't required as Doggies members to purchase a ticket as our membership will get us GA but was thinking due to a expected high crowd for this match would we still need to buy tickets to make sure.

Yes but if i want to sit with my friend i can't unless i buy a ticket at the gate. Because all the tickets online are reserved seating. So the only way would be if a purchased a reserve seat with my membership as well?

You can buy a general admission ticket online, but you can't upgrade your membership to general admission, only to a reserved seat.

By the way, MCG are predicting a crowd of 65,000 so there will be no issue with turning up and getting in with your bulldog membership.

You select club members and public reserve and you do not enter your membership in. Just click the green select your tickets now.

General admission is the second last category on the right hand side. Click on that and then choose your type of ticket, adult, concession etc.

Yeah I think it should ok solely on membership as aker39 said they are probably expecting 65K. Will know more soon when the club release the match information.

On the thread topic, I think it will hit 70k. Premiers against the pies round 1 on a Friday night!, I'd like to see that.

The general admission areas will get pretty full, so get there early or buy before hand.

Unless you just do standing room on Level 1 if the seats are full. I'll probably do that in that case. I don't mind if required to stand for away VIC games.

So if you want to sit in the Ponsford or Olympic you have to sit minimum from row AA back.
Which i'm assuming is half way up the top level, or at least 27 odd rows back.

General Admission is becoming more and more economy class these days.

Won't surprise me to see that GA will get you access to the last 3 rows behind the goals only in the near future, and there will be 7 levels of reserve upgrades in between to get a seat closer to the front.

Eastdog

Yeah, better tickets are on sale today.. It's a *!*!*!*!ing disgrace.

To get back at them I have applied a loophole (on the advice of a fellow poster) which hopefully doesn't back-fire.

Yes the ticketing agencies need to have better service that's for sure. Very frustrating.

It is not the service that is the issue, it is the way they allocate tickets. I don't understand why they leave some good tickets to last minute, instead of allocating the best tickets on a first come first serve basis.

My theory:

If you're buying your ticket first thing, you're a lock to come regardless. Whereas if you're tossing up at the last minute and lo and behold, you land a plum seat you're far more likely to take it.

Anyone know how much it is to upgrade your GA membership to a reserved seat for this game and how you go about it? On ticketmaster site there's only options to buy reserved seat but not upgrade from GA.

Correct, an 11 game membership can not upgrade, must buy a general admission ticket or reserved seat at full price, just like a non member.
