We are struggling and we haven't selected a side to give us the best chance.

Really need Stringer and Dickson to step up today.

A loss will have us under the pump to even make finals.

Bailey Dale has that poise and expectation that a moments composure can present opportunities and that he can execute the pass. He looks bigger and physically at home. Stringer impressed kicking 5 goals, Bont really gets us into the game but some of his kicks at goal weren't the best, Daniel and JJ played well along with Dahlhaus. Morris did some important things today, bad luck for Murph hope the injury is nothing too serious.

All in all a very good Saturday afternoon out at Etihad at the footy.

Home from the game. Good to bank the points in a game that held much the same rhythm as our other wins so far this year. No dizzying heights and some really frustrating moments. Could have felt very similar to our losses too, had St Kilda not butchered the footy. A positive outing nonetheless.

We Looked slow and second to contest up to middle of second quarter. Then we flicked the switch and we overwhelmed them with our handball game

Keep missing those set shots in front of goal-
First half misses : bonts, stringer , Jong
Got to nail those or opposition teams will kills us on the rebound . Our goal kicking I have no confidence when we kick it just makes me utterly nervous

Caleb daniel played good 4 quarters and from my observation was he was bog. The spoil on Carlisle was a delight and he almost took a leading mark at half forward.

Jong liked his hip and shoulder and he needs to show more aggression when marking in packs. Would love to see him start Monster guys by out marking them would add an another dimension to his game

Adams was very good today and took some telling marks in the back . The back six were superb

We smashed them with our hand ball game and retained possession .

Liked bailey dale game and his running bounced in the 3rd quarter was exhilarating to watch. He has poise and skill we have a good one here.

We should have won by a bigger margin and games like these are opportunities to win by big margins to help our percentage

Boring but pleasing game.

Just a few weeks ago I watched Dale tear apart Richmonds VFL side and was looking forward to the day he would replicate that at AFL level. Yesterday he did, everytime he got the ball there you new he was going to use it well. Has excellent poise and balance, we will be a completely different side when he Daniel and Mclean are regulars. All use the ball exceptionally well.

Bont is clearly carrying something. Last week he must have played half the game at full forward and yesterday if he wasn't there he was playing off the wing. Avoided the centre bounces the whole match. Still doesn't excuse his woeful finishing n front of goal, that ridiculous checkside kick on the run when he had 3 players in better positions is the worst error of judgement of his career. Glad it came in a comfortable win.

Stringer loves playing the Saints, it's where he does his best work. Nice to see him work hard and lead and for us to honour him. He is the ultimate leading forward, powerful and quick and if the ball hits the ground Stringer on the move is one of the most dangerous players in the league.

Really pleased with our defence again. Easton Wood continues a great return to form, Biggs had his best game of the season, and Adams continues to star.

Not much love for Mitch Wallis in these reviews but jeez he was a powerhouse. He did an amazing amount of gruntwork and was creative. Big 2 weeks from him. If Libba can get himself firing/fully fit, we are going to have a powerful engineroom come the pointy end of the season.

Like others, was very impressed with Bailey Dales development, Hunter's efforts in a varied role - showing greater applicaton and making a big contribution, Daniel's composure and cleanliness, Stringers class in a very difficult game for forwards and our defensive unit generally, with Adams and Morris excellent.

Lots of positives but we still have a long way to go though to reach the levels of last September.

Watching Bevo's presser again:

Media Q: Was the plan all along for Jordan to play?
Bevo A: Which Jordan is that?

Hmmm.

Yeah it was pretty obvious that it was a planned 'late change' - to bring Rough in for Clay. I don't think you'd be looking to go in with 3 rucks again though.

But I do think we had a significant win at the selection table by leaving Redpath and Cloke out - giving Brown and Carlisle no obvious match ups. It was pretty plain to see that Brown on Stringer was a disaster for them with Stringer playing the deepest, and the Rucks making Carlisle have to defend.

I was more thinking about Bevo asking 'Which Jordan'. We didn't have another Jordan in the 22. Weird question from Bevo.

Is there a Jordan out there we have made an offer to and he got ahead of himself? :D

Funny but unlikely BD. Only know of de Doey, Lewis and Murdoch as others out there and can't see any fitting.

The checkside burn on Stringer? Just a guy trying to turn a pretty average day around I would have thought.

Or maybe they HATE each other just like JJ and Stringer HATE each other and everyone HATES Tom Boyd who knows.

always right

Have to say that in a very ordinary game, Bont's miss at goal was the lowlight and was followed by the saints kicking a couple of goals. Thank god that was an exception because it wasn't very Bont-like.

.

Yeah thats the one, I didnt even realise it was a checkside. He was 15m out straight in front. Was a very unBontlike day.

Reminds me that I noted during the warm up JJ & Stringer were kicking to each other. Yep, they clearly hate each other. BF strikes again.

Pretty sure the BF talk is that if JJ goes back to Perth, his best friend Stringer will follow him there. Because its JJ that is most important to Stringer. Not his family.

There were actually rumours of a rift on BF, no sarcasm

Rumours on BF are just sarcasm without knowledge or intent.

There's a Foote from Sydney, a recently upgraded rookie.

Great game Dale - any chance he is still eligible for a Rising Star nomination?

No he is not eligible as he has played 14 games at the start of the season. Must be 10 or less.
