WOOF 2018 Player Awards - Round 1 vs GWS

Welcome to the WOOF Player Awards for season 2018, Round 1 GWS v Western Bulldogs.

There are two awards that you can vote on once the game is completed.

Voting closes each Tuesday at 8.00pm.

The first award is for the Joe Marmo Medal for the best players on the ground.

There are 4 votes allocated and it's a 4 for the best and of course 3, 2 and 1.

The second award is for the Ron James Medal for the best 2 pups on the ground.

2 Votes allocated - 2 being for the best pup and 1 for the runner-up
Remember the cut off age for a pup is 22 as at the 1st of January, 2018.

Gee whiz. Hard one.

4. Macrae - never gave up. A typically consistent performance from him in his 100th game.
3. Hunter - pretty busy and creative when we were struggling early - and helped get us going for our one good patch of the day (late first quarter).
2. Suckling - Tried to make things happen. Ran and carried where he could. Kicked a nice goal.
1. Dunkley - Doesn’t let you down for effort and competitiveness.

Was at the game so should vote even though so poor:

4. Hunter - thought 4 quarter effort
3. MacRae - same. Got head knock close to us (and to GWS player credit Finlayson? he checked on Jack after knock) but was into next contest no problems.
2. Dahl - in and under and gave us some drive against the tide.
1. Suckling - was noticeable he was one who was still chasing, tackling, creating options still in last quarter when game was over. Others (noticeably the Bont i thought) were running on the spot.

2 English - gonna be a player. We saw the future today - some sort of Dean Cox / Nic Nattanui cross. He is just so tall and so gets first hand on ball and moves round ground so well. Looks slightly stronger now than last season.
1 Bailey Dale. I guess. Didn't see much of him early but he kept trying in second half when others seemed to drop away.
