Welcome to the WOOF Player Awards for season 2018, Round 6 Western Bulldogs vs Carlton at Etihad Stadium

There are two awards that you can vote on once the game is completed.

Voting closes each Tuesday at 8.00pm.

The first award is for the Joe Marmo Medal for the best players on the ground.

There are 4 votes allocated and it's a 4 for the best and of course 3, 2 and 1.

The second award is for the Ron James Medal for the best 2 pups on the ground.

2 Votes allocated - 2 being for the best pup and 1 for the runner-up
Remember the cut off age for a pup is 22 as at the 1st of January, 2018.

What did you like about his game? He did a few nice things, but I wouldn't have had him in my best 6 in this category.

His defensive efforts were an enormous increase on the first rounds of the season and he created some important turnovers with pressure. He appeared to be our best pressure forward on the night.

Tough game to give votes. Kind of felt like a few that weren’t necessarily the big possession winners, may have had more influence than others. Just got home, so without stats and just gut feel I’ll say

That might be incredibly harsh on Macrae. Just thought the above 4 had the most impact and most steady in a game of errors. Hunter’s ability to get involved 3 or 4 times in a chain is staggering.

Wallis’ sheer will to win the 50/50 ball is huge.

I thought Bont had an average game TBH, lowered his colours to Cripps and those 2 misses i guy of his quality should be nailing. They were at a critical time of the games too. He would have 5th.

JJ missed a relatively easy one for a player of his ability yet was given votes by the same voter so I don't think your theory stands up.

It's why I didn't give him a higher rating. I can't keep rating our players as highly as I have in the past if they can't nail the shots they should on a more consistent basis.

Agree on this one. Bont was very good. He hasn't been his best lately but really came into it on Friday night. Gowers another stiff to miss in my votes but went for Lipinski who looked very good up forward.

I agree with this. Also, Bont only spent part of the game on Cripps. Cripps was much more effective when Jong stood him.
