Really nervous about tomorrow night, I can't stand watching us get flogged, so I am hoping it is a good close game and we win of course. :)

North 31 points up against GWS. Almost the same number of scoring shots.

A lot of people had them at the bottom of the ladder but they've been a bit of a surprise

I feel very envious watching Ben Brown LEADING into an open, uncontested forward line, and then finishing confidently.

Gee I’d love to see Tom Boyd play fwd for the rest of the year and given every chance to build his forward craft. Considering our season is just about gone I’d like to see what he could do without being flogged in the ruck.

Time to pick through GWS list. Plenty of talent there, but perhaps no longer belief GWS will get the gifted premiership as hoped. Some think JMac is very good to deal with after all, and maybe he rates some non-essential dogs players.

Yep. I find it hard to listen to 'Tom Boyd doesn't do this or that as a forward', especially when we have not developed him as a forward or ever play him as a forward for the majority of games. The reason for Tom not being a developing to dominating KPF is not of his making. At least McCartin gets a good run at things at St Kilda, even if he's half the talent of Tom.

I completely agree. I read on another thread that Tom has been disappointing value considering the wage we are paying him. With all due respect we could recruit Sinatra to sing for us but then insist that he play the guitar instead on the basis that someone singing without musical accompaniment is a bit unusual and nobody is going to want to see it. Besides imagine how much better he could sing if he could imagine the song from the guitarist's perspective?

He'd be tone deaf and wouldn't be able to sing a note after six months in the bulldog orchestra. If Tom is underperforming as a ruckman then let's give him a extended run in the position we actually recruited him to play in and play ruckman in the ruck. They are turning (trying) Tom as this hybrid ruckman/inside mid that they just want to half the ruck contest and get to the ground before the other ruckman to create an extra number at that contest. It all seems unnecessarily complicated to me

I wish...

I’ll settle for a 3rd qtr collapse by the Injectors, a series of dodgy frees to Selwood in a tight last qtr, Jake S has the chance to win the game in the dying seconds after marking 20 metres out but in an inexplicable brain fade he plays on... Bomber blitz site crashes!

If we want Tom to share rucking duties let it be when the ball is in the forward fifty. Whoever is the main ruck can look after the rest of the ground.

Yep. Essendon have a dead cat bounce in form for over the next few weeks and therefore don't sack Woosha. That will keep them in no-man's land.

You could see Essendon had Geelong in the first ten minutes.
Bombers seem to beat them often , and I had to turn off the nauseating barracking for our former player.
Can we have our callers calling and not barracking !!

On the one hand looked like Buddy was trying to spin out of the tackle but elbowing Hamling into the face is not a good look for footy. Hamling fell straight to the ground so it must have been a fair whack. Surely with Buddies record that is 2 weeks?

It'll come down to whether they grade it intentional or careless. Given it's Buddy, they'll probably give him careless and it's a week at worst.

Nah, the AFL fell out of love with Buddy when he left its BFF standing at the alter and eloped with the Swans.

If you upset GWS then you have the AFL to answer to. Look at how it savaged us because we had the temerity to beat them in a prelim and junk their best chance at winning a flag. GWS' time has passed, 2016 was their big chance but we spoiled the party and we have been paying a price ever since.

They lost to Adelaide earlier this year, plus to the Cats last year in round 21. The last time they lost at the MCG was round 13 last year, but in 2017 lost most games away.

Richmond are just flat track bullies. Fantastic at knocking teams that are teetering off at their home ground.

Put a slight amount of pressure on them and they fold like a card table. I don't expect them to make the eight.

Nor the punishment the AFL meted out to us. If the AFL reacted in the same way to Richmomds flag as they did to ours they would insist they play no more than 3 small forwards and outlaw the Dustin Martin don't argue (that is let every other player but Dustin Martin do it), make Cotchin (and Josh Caddy and Bachar Houli) bounce the ball every 10 metres and make them kick the ball 15 metres to a teammate before it's a marl.

Oh and not let them play their finals at their homeground.

2017 and this year they have lost games away in Adelaide twice, Geelong, Spotless and Perth all to top 4 teams.

They are almost unbeatable at the MCG, although last year they lost to Freo and Sydney. As for making the 8, well can't see them being less than 4th.

In their last 19 games, they've only lost to WCE in Perth, Adelaide in Adelaide and Geelong at Geelong....they are hardly robinson crusoe in losing at those venues. And they've demolished everybody else, including two of those teams by 8 goals plus in the finals last year. In fact they demolished all other 3 top 4 sides in the finals last year - so their 2017 is beyond reproach in my book.

Buddy's fine, but Jack Redpath has been cited for commenting on the incident to his mate's girlfriend's cousin and prejudicing the outcome of a potential non-tribunal hearing. He's been offered and accepted a 2 match ban which the AFL has decided to appeal on the grounds of "he didn't fight it so we must have got the sentence wrong."

The fact that we traveled during the finals series and performed well speaks volumes for what we achieved in 2016 but I'm not sure we can say because Richmond didn't travel it cheapens or asks questions about what they achieved last year.
Does it cheapen any Australian Gold Medal at the Sydney Olympics because it was in our backyard or do we just accept that they won against the best opposition on the day?
