I need your help :cool:

Last week, one of my fantastic EAs gave me this jumper (see the links above - I can't load photos on WOOF).

She said she picked it up in a garage sale :eek:

The jumper itself is the old (heavier) polyester material with wool collars on neck and sleeves (not like the current jumper material). It's a Sekem jumper with the old AFL logo and the Vodaphone sponsorship, but I can't place the era ... Any ideas?

The signature are also a mystery. I can pick Dougie's, Bandy's, and Brad Johnson's but that's about all.

It's definitely a 2000 jumper - the size and general unrefined nature of the logo clearly put it right at the changeover time, and we were sponsored by Vodafone for 99 and 2000 only.

A similar Jumper was worn around 1997- 98 (source here (http://footyjumpers.com/footscrayhome.htm)) , the signatures appear to be from around 2002 to 2005 beacuse that is when Bandy played.

From the signatures, you can pickup the player numbers, such as 3, 6, 18, 22, 17, 28, 33, 7. That is all I can see. Should be able to then work out who the players were :) Maybe someone else can convert the numbers to players.

2000 jumper didn't have the red around the sleeves and white V around neck.

Yep but I think it's an older jumper that's had "contemporary" patches added to it - I bought a jumper from the club in ~2003 that got given the same treatment for Lease Plan coming on board.

I took another look at the year by year jumpers and Scraggers jumper style was last worn in 1999, but Vodaphone came in 2000, so the jumper must have been given the treatment like you said.

So, given it’s the ‘99 - ‘00 era and Dougie finished in ‘94, any ideas on the other autographs?

22 is Robert Murphy. I think he changed to number 2 in 2001.

28 would have been Paul Dimattina, 7 would have been Scott West, 17 would have been Nathan Brown, 3 would have been Chris Grant, 6 would have been Brad Johnson, 22 could have been Ben Harrison if it was in 2001 otherwise Bob Murphy, 33 I don't know.

I believe it might be a bit of a mixed bag with Doug's in there, possibly also David Smorgon's.

My guess is that the signatures were done late ~2001 thru 2003 given #33 looks like Ryan Hargrave (before he moved to 25) and Daniel Bandy #11. Bandy only started with us in 2002 after shifting over from Fremantle.

Vodafone were sponsors from '99 to '01 so quite reasonable that it might've been signed end of '01 after Bandy moved across.

I was gonna say Matt Robbins but looks like he was 30. I then thought Brad Murphy and looks like he had it in 2004-5 (amazed I guessed that)

Which makes the jumper signed between late 2001 to somewhere mid 2002 given that Rhode came on board as coach for the '03 season after Wallace's fall from grace at the Club.

Looking at the names/autographs and the condition of the jumper, its not a bad pick up for $20 from a swap meet in Perth, WA :cool:
