We have Bont, Macrae and Dunks who should poll well, but will any of them go all the way?

What are your predictions for who will win? Will there be a joint winner this year - I am thinking there will, with so many good players out there and all polling well.

If I bet, my money would be on Bonts or Cripps who won the coaches award and players award respectively. I think Kelly May take a big chunk of votes off Dangerfield. Bonts has that risk with Macrae & Dunkley likely to poll well. Cripps has Murphy & Walsh to contend with. Bonts would’ve done better if he nailed a few more goals to maybe get an extra vote here of there, but his body of work should have him up there for a close run thing.

Macrae will be a big show.

Fwiw the only player to scoop all 3 in the last decade was Dusty in 2017.

I backed both the Bont (26/1) and Macrae (21/1) early in the season

Outside of Danger and Kelly there aren't any other cats that are expected to poll well. With 16 wins there are enough votes for both to be at the pointy end of the leaderboard.

Murphy and Walsh will be lucky to get a handful of votes between them, don't think they will take many from Cripps.

Our biggest problem with producing a winner is having 3 players that could all push 20 votes but only having 12 wins. They are surely going to cannibalise each others votes.

BROWNLOW MEDAL OMEN? SUPERIOR BONT won at Healesville yesterday for owner Jodie Wynd, wife of 1992 Western Bulldogs Brownlow Medallist Scott Wynd.

Marcus Bontempelli is among the favourites to take Charlie home tonight.

That's the potential problem. Cripps might just Steven Bradbury pass everyone.

I was later to the party, and took 20s for the Bont.

I reckon that you guys will get a return on your investment tonight. The Bont will win easily.

27 to Fyfe
14 to Bonti

This is why umpires shouldn't vote, NFI!

Only 4 St Kilda players with more Brownlow votes than Bruce. The same Bruce leaving there to come here.

Is the rest of the freo midfield rubbish that Fyffe gets all the votes ? Honestly I can’t recall how many games his influenced compared to Bonte , but hey I may be biased

Bonts & Macrae equal best with 22 votes each. Equal 8th in the count.

Dunkley equal 19th on 15 votes.

The highest voted starting midfield (x3 mids) with 59 votes. Backs up the coaches award results.

Happy that Jacko is getting the recognition he deserves to get this year. He's been super consistent.

I reckon where the Bont landed was just about right. Kick ten more goals for the year which he should have done and influence more games more clearly through doing so and he'll get the kudos he should.

Sounds about where the rest of the comp rate them.

The rest of the comp are idiots though.

Fyfe is a gun, was one of about half a dozen that could have won tonight and deserved it. No issue with him winning.

Happy it was anyone other than Dangerfield.

Neale leaving has really exposed Freo's midfield as paper thin. No wonder Fyfe smashed the votes.

Yes, can't stand him. Would have been fun if Kelly won and then upped and left

Why is Bontempelli no 1 and in bold when Jack also polled 22? Little things like that matter!

That's exactly what happened. Mundy next best of the full time mids with 8.

Great season from our mids. Fyfe is such a classy person - outstanding acceptance speech. Quality player. Quality human.

I didn't think Bont was ever a chance. Macrae and Dunkley both had incredible seasons so they were always going to take votes. I think often even our own supporters forget how good Macrae is, the umps got it right.

We got a massive amount of votes for 12 wins. Essendon also had 12 wins and only got 58 votes.

Too true. One of only a handful of players that I like from another club. Would look mighty fine in the red, white and blue.

Given the way midfielders dominate the Brownlow you have to wonder why clubs aren't employing taggers more frequently

I don't see why coaches would care who the umpires think the best or most influential players are. Especially given the Brownlow medalist's team didn't make finals
