Marlion Pickett will lose 100,000 in crowd numbers from his first to his second game

That’s an incredible story

This game felt weird. Until Richmond handed Carlton their own arse less than 5 minutes in. Now it just feels familiar.

Strange game, it's a sling shot style.

The AFL did a great job to get the game on, but Carlton first game of the year seriously? When will they ever learn.

Jack Martin is insane for choosing the blues over the dogs

If we got Jack, would we have got Bruce and Keath?

Yes. Would’ve lost Weightman.

Martin would have been perfect for us

Cripps is an amazing player. Does it all defensively and is involved in everything offensively. He is wasted at a poor club.

I like (liked?) the Blues this this year. They've rid themselves of their worst qualities (their coach and his insistnace on playing guys who he could see himself in) and are realisitically too talented everywhere to be bad.

Tonight's side took it to the best side in it (first 10 minutes notwithstanding) and have pretty much their entire forward line to come in.

I did pick the Blues it was my Bevo left field selection.
I had a feeling that with the new coach and Cripps having another year under his belt that they could make an upset.
My gut said Tigers and brain over analysed.

McKay is lazy. Curnow (sadly) is in Cooney territory with his knee. Their forwardline is about as good as it's going to get this year.

Keuzer is the bigger loss - he is elite in those rare moments he's fit and well.
Weitering is getting close to an A grade defender too - weird that a former no 1 pick can almost fly under the radar. Really impressed with his game.

The dangers of a high defensive press game plan was on show for all to see last night. Carlton dominated the I50's for most of the night but were still easily scored against out the back. Teams who have a watertight defensive structure who can absorb repeat I50's and can slingshot forward when given the chance will do well in 2020.

Carlton’s inside 50’s played into Richmond’s Hands though . Shit aimless kicks get gobbled up .
Carlton took the social distance call into the game as well

Essendon will be pleased to get the win against Fremantle. Stringer kicked a couple of goals I think

Port put together a strong performance against the Suns and GWS easily take care of Geelong
Earlier Sydney beat Adelaide

Care factor for this season is trending towards zero. Feels on par with AFLX.

Going to be hard to generate conversations if more are feeling the same way.

Enjoyed the GWS Geelong game
Didn’t think geelong played that badly , but GWS ( hate to say it) are in the flag window in a major way.
Pretty shitty result from Gold Coast as general consensus was they’d start the season well
That Tom Greene looks a ripper

God Dwanyne's voice is irritating.

Not much scoring happening at Marvel with both North and Saints 6 goals a piece into the last quarter
