This is the Round 23, 2022 edition of the weekly Bankers and Anchors thread. Once the game against Hawthorn is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

Bankers

1. Darcy two goals with a great contested mark for his first

2. Dunkley - wow he is a strong mark, plus 9 tackles great performance

3. Hunter - return to form

Anchors

1. Once more pathetic umpiring. Naughton Crucified several times, but the worse one when he was being held while on the ground and trying to get up, arms up telling ump, but they just decided to ignore him.

2. Kicking 15 behinds

3. Bruce - out of touch, MC really stuffed up here

Bankers

1. Darcy - he was game changing good. So influential in the 2nd, and could've had 3 or 4.

2. Roarke Smith. He's actually becoming a statistically reliable shot on goal. He's great depth to have on our list.

3. Dunkley. what a brute of a game. Really torn, as I suspect if he hasn't signed by now, he's out the door.

Anchors

1. Bruce. And at this point it's not on him, it's the match committee. what was it during his week off that led them to think he had got his mojo back?

2. Poor execution into the wind in both the 1st and the 3rd was frustrating to watch.

Bankers

1. Winning by enough to make Carlton need a win or draw. The extra pressure helped with the choke

2. Darcy. He swung the game in our favour. Hawthorn were throwing the magnets around to try stop this kid playing his 3rd game. Exciting future

3. Duryea. Just having him back released Treloar back to being more offensive. Treloar's best game since the Collingwood game. I think Duryea was minding Breust who went scoreless. That doesn't happen too often.

Anchors

1. Not putting away a weak Hawthorn team a lot earlier.

2. Missing a lot of easy shots in play and set shots.

3. Forward entries. I don't know if the mids and forwards even know each other's names.
