I like this, but wonder about the motivation behind it.

Not sure the point of this.

Bevo said something similar after the Freo game.

Seems like corporate spin to me…

I thought when I first spied it that it was to brace ourselves for the Dunkley departure.

Errrrrk unnecessary putting Bont in that position looked awkward as hell. Bet this is a Bains thing.

I know that at least one of the players spoke to the group directly after the game about using the loss as stimulus for 2023.

I see this as a player driven thing, the leadership group owning the situation and letting us know they believe they are capable of a lot more.

He looked pretty relaxed to me.

The old damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Messages from leaders are important and whilst it may be some throw away lines for some, for others it is important to hear from the Captain to reassure supporters that they will be back bigger and better next year.

The man can do no wrong in my eyes. Felt authentic, appreciate the message.

Hopefully he and the players are hurting badly and they will come out fighting next year.

I reckon he's fully articulated our frustrations. I mean, he's probably not going to say "We should've reviewed the GF in more detail and we'll do that this season" or similar, but he's acknowledging underperformance and greater expectation. That's not "accepting mediocrity" or anything. It made me feel good to hear it.

Could've made it a touch more impactful by saying "And I'm gonna grow my hair back longer again... I take 100% responsibility for the error in judgement of cutting my hair".

And Bevo removing the Mo!

Between this and Ellie’s post game comments tonight, I feel better about the players and their current relationship with the club. Whatever has been off, it can be fixed. Bont has done a good thing here.

Nice message but shouldn't of been done by Bont, should of been done by Bains, Grant or even KWW. Having this message delivered from someone who has the power to make changes at the club would of hit harder, Bont can't tell the club to get new assistant coaches or change our game plan.

Whilst the players were poor this year I don't think any of it falls on poor Bont's shoulders, he tried to drag us across the line but honestly not even the Bont could do that.

Corporate spin to me, specially when mentioning ''back in the coaches'' - I'm not backing in our assistant coaches, not one bit because they haven't given us any reason to do so.
