Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

Round 1 - Western Bulldogs lose to Melbourne

Marmo

4 - Tom Liberatore
3 - Adam Treloar
2 - Ed Richards
1 - Tim English

Comments
A really disappointing start after an encouraging pre-season.
The players recording votes are the lowest I have seen in the time I have been tallying the votes with only 6 players recording a vote.
Tom Liberatore (86 possible 92) tops the voting from Adam Treloar (55), Ed Richards (44) and Tim English 40). Bailey Dale received 3 votes from 1 poster and Bontempelli recorded a single vote.

We certainly need a big lift from the players in round 2.

Another disappointing effort with very few players reaching a satisfactory level of performance.

Round 9 - Western Bulldogs defeat Carlton to maintain their tragic history (no premierships in the 3rd Millenium – Not even a Grand Final appearance)

Marmo

4 – Ed Richards
3 – Bailey Smith
2 – Tom Liberatore
1 – Liam Jones

Comments

A strong performance to again prevail after being twice headed in the 4th quarter.
The voting was concentrated on 3 main players although lots of recognition of the wider contribution from the playing group.
Top votes for Ed Richards (104 of possible 128) ahead of Bailey Smith(89) and Tom Liberatore (78). Liam Jones (16) takes the minor vote ahead of Johannisen (11), Bailey Dale (9), Anthony Scott (5), Bailey Williams (3), Arty Jones (3) and Caleb Daniel (2).

Note that there was a minor confusion on a 2 vote awarded to Jones. It was not clarified which Jones, but it was not material to the final voting. I awarded to Liam but if was intended for Arty it would have reduced his tally to 14 and still 4th place but would have boosted Arty to 5 and equal with Anthony Scott.

Marmo Leaderboard

20 - Marcus Bontempelli

7.5 – Tom Liberatore
7 – Adam Treloar
6 – Ed Richards
4.5 – Aaron Naughton

3 – Tom Liberatore
2 – Bailey Dale
1 – Caleb Daniel

Comments

A strong team performance where they were never really threatened in a game that certainly loomed as a danger game.
Plenty of viable options for votes as good players on the day were numerous.
Top votes clearly for Bailey Smith (113 of possible 12) ahead of a cluster of 5 players who all polled well. Tom Liberatore (46) got the runner up vote narrowly from Bailey Dale (43) with Caleb Daniel (31) just pipping Liam Jones (30) and Jack Macrae (29). Voter participation also subdued (lowest for the year) and concentrated on just 2 players.

Judged best was Tim English (65 of possible 68) as our best with Daniel (54) the other prominent in the votes. Adam Treloar (23) headed the rest from Libba (13) Dale (10) and Macrae (5) as the only other players to record votes.

Back as a winner but the margin did not reflect the dominance in general play.
Big debate on the relative merits of the outstanding players on the day, but the Woofer collective referendum went with the goalkicker.
Cody Weightman (87 of possible 96) got the nod ahead of Bontempelli (82) withb strong polling from Treloar (52) in third position. The minor vote goes to Tom Liberatore (10), from English (9) and Bailey Dale (8). The other vote getter was Bailey Williams (2).

An excellent victory with a strong team contribution.

Top votes to Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (83 of possible 96) in a performance that has us all excited as he continues his development. Another great captains game had Bontempelli (63) as next best from the reliable Tom Liberatore (44). A close tussle for the minor vote with Bailey Dale (19) outpolling Treloar (16). Caleb Daniel (7) headed the rest with Jack Macrae and Rhylee West (each 3) from Alex Keath (2). A good effort from West to have such an important impact with less than 25% game time.

Comments

A tough night where a failure to take chances coupled with a lapse from late in the second let victory slip away. Good enough to take on anyone but not able to maintain the effort.
Unanimous choice for Caleb Daniel (88 of possible 88) from our 3 main forwards led by Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (57), Aaron Naughton (40) and Cody Weightman (24). Bailey Dale (6) led the rest from a courageous Ryan Gardner (3) with Bontempelli and Ed Richards each receiving a single vote.

Comments

This week takes supporters from disappointment to devastation. Again WOOFers found it difficult to award votes but I am unable to tally incomplete votes as that distorts everything.
This week there were 17 WOOFers to provide full votes and Bontempelli (65 of a possible 76) was clearly adjudged our best. James O’Donnell (36) headed the rest and he may well prove to be the most exciting player to emerge from the disastrous season. Voting for the minors was tight with vo Ed Richards and Adam Treloar (both 17)sharing third /fourth. Close up was Liam Jones and Rory Lobb(both 15), while Tim English (4) and Rhylee West (1) were the others to score.

.
Bont now has an assailable lead. Pity he hasn’t received a bit more onfield support.

WOOF Player Awards - (WPA)

Here is the tally Board after our Round 24 game against Geelong

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

Round 24 - Western Bulldogs finally get a win against Geelong at Sedat Park in what ultimately was a meaningless dead rubber

Marmo

4 – Marcus Bontempelli
3 – Adam Treloar
2 – Rory Lobb
1 – Tom Liberatore

Comments

At least a result we could cheer, but having lost control of our destiny it all seemed a little hollow with the need to barrack for Caaarlton, who let us down anyway.

The voting was incredibly tight with 24 WOOFers participating. Again top votes to Bontempelli (68 of a possible 96) narrowly ahead of Treloar (67) with a very close up Rory Lobb (63) playing his best game in the colours. Liberatore (31) was clearly ahead of the rest. Others to poll where Weightman (5), Richards (4) plus Naughton and Daniel each with a single vote.

Marmo Leaderboard

52 - Marcus Bontempelli
29.5 – Tom Liberatore
24- Tim English,
20.5 - Adam Treloar
20 - Caleb Daniel
12 – Jamarra Ugle-Hagan

Bont can be declared the winner of the Marmo award for 2023.

Thanks BJ. The vote count reflects our season.

3-4 consistent performers and that’s it.

Thanks BJ. I found it pretty hard to allocate the 3,2 and 1 on many occasions this year. That tells story in itself.

Clearly this shows the dominance of the Bont. It has to be his year to win a Brownlow this year as not many others will take votes from him.
