I once remember hearing him described as the battler who worked tirelessly to help others.
RIP Les and condolences to all who knew, loved and admired the way he dedicated his life to helping others.

Sad news. Condolences to family & friends. The legacy of his tireless work will l Iive on & I would think inspire others to do good things.

His surname kinda echoes his larger than life reputation (presence and efforts).

RIP Les.

I’ve worked in community services/mental health and now education in the West since finishing uni years ago his legacy in the area is incredibly strong. Foundation often takes our students. Young Carers program I ran years ago, the young people benefited from their programs too. He’d have folk take the Mickey out of him occasionally but in a tough environment he was someone who has rolled their sleeves up in the hope of something better. Really admirable.

One of us, and one of a handful of folk who are emblematic of this club and how it’s identity is interwoven through the community with football but not only football.

RIP to a genuinely great human being. He dedicated his life to helping people. Terrific youth worker and I hope his legacy can inspire others including myself to help the less fortunate. He will be missed.

Great spokesman for the voiceless and downtrodden. He was not afraid the speak his mind to those in power and exposed the prejudice and bigotry of those whose strong suit was victim blaming.
Grew up not far from Les and played cricket with him at Sunshine United. He led from the front. R.I.P. Les. Condolences to family and friends friends.

Bevo spoke really beautifully about Les in the post match presser.
For all the questioning of Bevo at times, he really gets the spirit of this club and the people around it and can really express that.
