We want Polly..We Want Polly..we want Polly!!!

I am sure you have the contacts to track him down TCD. ;)

The players you have interviewed that played alongside him speak so highly of his talent.

Thank's W54.

It's also a matter of finding time too, trying to find the player is not as easy as you may think, the interviews can take up to 40 mins (done over the phone), then I have decipher my scribble afterwards, type it a word doc, then copy & paste to WOOF, including bolding the players comments.

I enjoy it & will try my best to keep finding former players.

Unless you've another candidated slated TCD, what odds an interview with an ex-Sandgroper such as Daniel Southern or Brad Hardie?...Both are pretty lively types.

Understandable with Southern...isn't Hardie a semi-regular on W.A. radio?

EDIT: Did a little research, he works for 6PR but they have him based in Melbourne it seems. Here's his station profile replete with contact details (through his program producer) if that's of any use?

It's a waste of time going through a 3rd party, believe me. The message just doesn't get passed on properly & so far I've been pretty fortunate with my approaches, no one has said no.

Another from that part of the world with an interesting perspective would be Tony Buhagiar. I think he runs a pub in Perth.
A bit old maybe but in the 1985 season he was terrific and then there was the infamous plane incident with captain Groenewegon. Tony used to have a very good sense of humour.

I see Budgie first & foremost as a Bomber, only 1 season with us. Certainly not on my radar.

Fantastic TCD, was a very good solid contributor would always give his all. Im sure you'll cover all we want to know such as his second half game in the ruck against Carlton one year and why he went to Adelaide and why his nick name was fish and where is fish creek!! :D
Ok maybe the second last one is obvious.

Three games spring to mind about Standfield.

1) His first game was against StKilda in 1990 (and I think it was also the debut of Chris Grant)
He might have lined up on Plugger for about 10 minutes from memory.

2) His game at Princess Park against Carlton where he replaced Wynd in the ruck and won us the game with a BOG performance. An hour after the game he was still in his playing gear doing interviews whilst his team mates were packing up to go home..

3) Another game at Princess Park against Fitzroy where he was pitted against Alistair Lynch.
Lynch tried to rough him up but Standfield stood his ground. From memory we won that game with a bit of Scott West magic where he intercepted a handball for what would have been an easy goal to the Lions and we got a goal ourselves.

School teacher by trade I think.
