Didn't see it live, but it happened basically right in front of where I was (although I was about 50m back in the covered stand). Didn't look fantastic on the replay, bit of a raised elbow. Those who saw the game on TV, how did it look?

Pretty important player next week, and would hate to see him rubbed out for 1 or 2.

If he gets a week it'll be a disgrace, I think he's pretty safe.

I dont think its as cut and dry as others here seem to think. He made contact so it will be closely looked at. 50/50 chance in my opinion.

it shouldn't get looked at, but with the AFL he has a change to get 1.
He doesn't have carry over points does he?

Hope he get's a week.

He is dumb and a liability on the ground.

He was looking at the ball and it was a glancing blow that hit just after he kicked it, should be fine.

Because the alternatives are so palatable.
I'm not disagreeing with you that Lake's making stupid decisions that shouldn't be made by a player of his experience, but without him out there next week our tall backs (ie whoever comes up from Willy this week) are dead meat. We have no other decent matchup for Roughhead. If he isn't out there next week we are toast.

Yes, I tend to agree it could go either way - with the MRP's lucky dip system anything can happen.

He should be right can't see him getting time for that.

Well if he does then it would be the biggest injustice of all time.

The only issue could be his residual points - even then, I would lean toward it being thrown out rather than even being assessed.

And we need him on Friday - badly. Let's see how he performs on the September stage.

I have absolutely zero faith in the tribunal system. I wouldn't even try to guess what they'll do.

Voss said last night after the Hawks game that Lake should get off.

Saw the incident this morning and I've gotta say that if he gets suspended for that then the AFL has lost the plot.

When did they have it?

Lake should be fine and Sam Mitchell should be in alot of trouble.
he jumped at Bentick and swung the elbow at his face, missed him and just missed his team-mate, but with the afl, i really would not be suprised if Mitchell gets off because he missed and Lake gets a week or 2

Looking at the replay in slow motion, Lake jumps in the air, both feet off the ground, and his upper arm hits Stevens in the head, but just slightly and not enough to do any damage. At no stage does his elbow come up as its tucked against his body. To me its a hip and shoulder and not reportable.

There is nothing in the rules to say you are not permitted to leave the ground. If a 180cm player (say someone like Giansiracusa) was bumping a 197cm player (like Koschiske, perhaps), to meet him shoulder-to-shoulder he would have to leave the ground.

The initial contact was with the forearm to Stevens' bicep. The rebound hits Stevens in the face. No chance this report will make it to Monday.

Wouldn't be the 1st time we have been robbed of a defender in the Finals Danny Southern???
