Very swift decisive action from the Lions, they haven't mucked around interviewing every man and his dog, and constantly referring to the 'process'

Great!

If Voss coaches with the same intelligence he commentates with thats one less team the dogs have to worry about in the next three years......

Interesting. They will be hoping for another Leigh Matthews, however they may end up with another Tim Watson.

Might help solidify the club's fan base from the GC though.

Valid point - no nothing will drive away support quite like a stinky team can

Brisbane to finish last next year. Who wants to listen to a knob ?

browny's got his career contract, no need for him to push himself.

It will be interesting to see how power, black, notting respond under voss.

I'll be very surprised if Notting is still a Lion in 2009.

Just heard that Tim Notting & Robert Copeland may not necissarily be part of the new messiah's plans going forward.

Copeland would fit in nicely at the Kennel.

Hasn't had a great season? Has he been injured?

C'mon, interest in Copeland? Might have been handy for his grit 3-4 years ago but these days should seriously consider retiring...been in and out of the Lions squad all year and the end is nigh.

Notting would represent slightly more value, but purely amongst your last 2 or 3 picked each week as a reserve midfielder/half back.

Next...

So let me get this right, a 30 year old in Notting has more value than Copeland who is 27yo.

Err, let me just slam that into reverse...

Right you are. I confused their respective ages...just seems like Copeland's been around forever, and I'd still argue Notting's the more accomplished player.

Still, wouldn't be sticking my neck out for either really.

as I said Copeland has had a poor year, barely averaged 10 touches a game.

Anyone that didn't think Greg Miller was past it should remember that he offered both Bushie Copeland and Dean Solomon attractive multi-year contracts in the vicinity of $350-400k a season to come over to Punt Rd. That's quite a dint in the salary cap for a couple of flankers with obvious limitations. But he did recruit Carey and Longmire

Voss is doing exactly the right thing by doing away with list cloggers like Notting and Copeland. Notting was a good player in his prime but those days are long gone. Copeland was only ever a battler who has gotten the most out of his limited ability.
