Who will be our player of the finals series? There will be a 5,4,3,2,1 voting system.

So after Friday's game - pick the 5 players who you think had the most impact on the game.

Second Semi Final – Western Bulldogs vs Sydney

Rocket Science

5 - Matt Boyd - Had to atone and did...led the way with a proud, gutsy effort, clearly BOG.
4 - Lindsay Gilbee - Switched on and instrumental in defence. Lindsay came to play.
3 - Ryan Griffen - Bold, scything catalyst...irrepressible with the pill.
2 - Tim Callan - Best game in red white and blue, courageous and committed when it counted.
1 - Josh Hill - Could easily have gone to ten others...loved Hill's poise.

This week is an absolute killer to try and allocate votes but here goes:

5- Boyd. Outstanding, nothing more needs saying.
4- Morris. Oh we of little faith. I was one of those who doubted he'd go with Goodes. He made us look like idiots.
3- Murphy. Great lead-up work, couple of ripper marks inside 50, wonderful game.
2- Gilbee. The fact I've only given him two votes for the game he had speaks more for those above him than for himself. Great game.
1- Griffen. Class all the way.

The unlucky ones include: Callan, Hargrave, Hill, Minson, Hudson, Johnson and Gia.

3. Griffen
2. Minson
1. Morris

5. Murphy - Murdered Sydney across half forward.
4. Boyd - Needed a big game and delivered.
3. Griffen - Exceptional ball use, run/carry & contested gets.
2. Gilbee - Very creative, really deadly foot skills.
1. Hahn - 11 or so hardball gets - a fantastic game.

Callan was unlucky, as were a few others - good overall team performance.

5 - Boyd. Keep him in cotton wool for next week.
4 - Morris. Need the same on Steve the freak next week.
3 - Griff. Class and hard running all night.
2 - Gilbee. didn't put a foot wrong.
1 - Tiller. thought he was fantastic, hard a little like Addison. Had more pressure than others to perform.

Apologies to Will & Murph.

5 - Griff - Did it in close, did it out wide, did it in defence, did it up fiorward, did it all tonight
4 - Gilbee - Use of the ball was first-class
3 - Boyd - Awesome comeback from last week. Very tough inside and hunted the ball with ferocity
2 - Hahn - I'd rather Hahn's 8 tough possessions in the 2nd qtr when Sydney was really challenging and the game was red-hot, as opposed to a certain sombody else's 8 cheap possessions (and 2 goals) in the last qtr when it was junk time
1 - Hargy - Fantastic job nullifying O'Keefe

Apologies to Morris and Lake, both of whom were mighty in their tough roles down back. Also Hudson and Minson were fantastic in nullifying Jolly's and Everitt's influence. Hudson's 6 clearances were reminiscent of his form in the first half of this year.

Haven't looked at the stats, just perception from the game itself.

4- Griffen (The spark)
3- Boyd (went all night)
2- Murphy (a target all night)
1- Johnson (inspired the team with his attack, first time I've seen Johnno do this for 8 weeks)
1- Hahn (thought he was hard at it and kept us in it with crucial early goals)
1- Gilbee (sublime use of the ball)
1- Callan (hard at the contests)
1- Lake (played Hall well)
1- Minson (best game I've seen him play)

I thought Hill was creative and Tiller was very solid also.

Here here..

As I awaken from my drunken stupour my thought's are the same.

Mitch was a rock for us when the game was in the balance.

5. Griffen - huge impact when the game had to be won.
4. Gilbee - Controlled the game down back - used it so well to set up attacks.
3. Murphy - vital across half fwd, huge impact and crucial 3 goals.
2. Boyd- Just kept getting it - atoned for last week and was far tougher.
1. Hudson - Got the ball out of the centre so many times.

Callan, Hargrave, Morris were all wonderful. Hill really ignited us - and Coons was really desperate and tough in the clinches, Awesome game!

Hmmm, spreading the 5 votes around 5 players, why didn't I think of that? Would've made life a lot easier.

Nothing would please me more to be wrong if that certain someone gets 8 telling possessions in the first qtr of next week's prelim.

5 - Gilbee - Didn't make an error, showed so much composure and was good for 4 quarters
4 - Hahn - Set the standard with his pressure, tackling, 1 %ers. True leader.
3 - Griffen - Was brilliant in the first quarter when things weren't going as well as they could have been, another leader when it mattered I thought.
2 - Boyd - Biggest ball winner on the ground and was hard at it all day.
1 - Morris - Added a dual Brownlow medalist to his hit list and did plenty himself as well.

Special mentions to: Murph, Callan, Minson, Lake, Hill.

Nah, just another very intelligent Bulldog's supporter.

That makes three of us then. I'd almost talked a Sydney supporter into taking him back to the Harbour city with him, but he went home without him. The guy said to me when he kicked a goal in the last quarter "He's sealed the game for you" "NO, he's done just enough to get in the team again next week"
