In 2009, I want to see...Will Minson become one of the premier goal kicking ruckmen in the league.

In 2009, I want to see...a send off for Aker worthy of the man.

In 2009, I want to see...Shaun Higgins take the next step.

What do you want to see?

Nice thread.

In 2009 I want to see Higgins, Everitt and Williams all get off to strong starts to the season.

In 2009 I want us to gain a more defensive edge.

In 2009 I want to see Griffen become a 4 quarter footballer.

How will this be judged? On statistics he was certainly one of the better performed ruckman/ forwards this year.

Goal-kicking totals on rucks/ forwards in 2008:

Hale 37
Kosi 30
Minson 19
Hille 19

- Tom Williams uninjured (this is a wish list right?)
- Grant debut
- Boumann pull his head in and play Willy Seniors
- Everitt to start matching some tall forwards
- Higgins to play a full year
- Griff step up to become a top liner

... and a Premiership

A Premiership.....and everything else will take care of itself!

Yes good thread.

- Another Top 4 position
- Williams playing 16+ games
- Lake up forward for at least a quarter!!!
- Everitt to put more muscle on and keep his spot in the side
- Cooney to keep that same intensity as the first half of 2008
- Some final year Akermanis magic
- And a premiership for Johnno if it is his last year

The Bulldogs Bite

Besides the obvious selections (Griffen, Higgins, Everitt, Williams);

* Stack to impress & play 5+ games this year, following the path of Hill & Harbrow.
* Grant to show some encouraging signs for Willy Seniors/push for a debut.
* Addison to keep improving and possibly play midfield.

Scorlibo
24-11-2008, 11:00 PM
- Higgins to move to the midfield, produce 20+ possies a game and kick 20+ goals.
- Griffen to step up into the elite, averaging 25+ possies
- Everitt to play more time forward and become a regular member of the 22
- Aker to kick 50+ goals
- Johnno to kick 50+ goals
- Cooney to produce the football he produced in the first half of 2008, for the whole of 2009
- Williams to become an accomplished CHB, minus injury.
- Jarrad Grant to play 10+ games, kick 10+ goals
- Callan Ward to win the Rising Star
- Will Minson to be AA bench ruckman
- Murphy to win AA
- Brian Lake to win AA
- 2009 PREMIERSHIP

Boy that would be good

OK - In 2009 I want to see...

The doggies take home the NAB/Wizard whatever cup and pocket an easy $200,000
Than, I want to see a slow start to our Home and Away season, gradually building up to hitting our peak in the last four games before finals finishing 4th on the ladder.
Cooney, Griffin, Crossy, Boyd and Higgins becoming the number 1 midfeild combo in the competition with people talking about Cooney as being better than Judd.
I want to see one of our young guns emerge like a reincarnated Granty - kicking 49 goals in his first season and giving us a serious ff option.
I want some magic from Johno and Aker in what may be both's last year.
And finally I want us to steamroll our way through the finals unbeaten to the Grand Final and beyond replicating Hawthorn this year.
Are you with me?

In 2009 I want to see...

Cross put his head over the ball for once in his life.
Cooney and Griffen do some sprint training to put just a tiny bit of pace into our midfield.
Minson show a bit of aggression.
Akermanis to be more extroverted.
Morris actually shut down an opponent.
Hargrave play on a opponent far too big for him.
Harbrow take on a couple of opponents.
Hill hold a mark over his head.
Hudson earn his own clearances in the middle.
Lake hold a contested mark.
Johnno turn that frown upside-down.
Eagleton get a bloody haircut.

Great thread

In 2009 I want to see

Hargrave cheered more than jeered
Western Bulldogs supporters actually become members
A huge sponsership
And of course a flag

Williams play a full year and become the premier CHB in the competition (to achieve this all he needs to do is stay fit).
Griffen and Cooney to turn in their best years yet.
Minson to kick 30 plus goals and dominate in the ruck.
Everitt to become a combination of Morris / Gilbee, being able to shut down opponents as well as run and deliver off half back.

If that happens and all the rest continue on, then I believe that we will see what I really want to see, which is a premiership.

I've had enough of just making finals, being competitive, having a good year.

Well really a Premiership is the main thing I want, but I wouldn't mind seeing:

-Williams play a whole year uninjured
-Skipper get a full pre-season in to give him a chance of saving his career
-Any of Grant, Cordy or Boumann to emerge as a future star forward.
-Minson to keep imrpoving
-Harbrow to consistently hit targets by foot
-Cooney to play well for the whole year
-Griffen to play well for a whole match
-Higgins to finally be injury free and able to push into our midfield rotations with Addison
-Akermanis to be able to do a handstand on the last Saturday of September
-I would love to see Radiohead, U2, The Killers, Bloc Party, The John Butler Trio and Muse live in concert atleast once each.

We cant win the flag in 09 with the same game plan and setup as last season.
So i hope for the Grant/Boumann to get a few games, so we can develop a spine.
Continue to get bigger and stronger. Add some pace to the midfield.
Become more accountable all over the field.
Play more one on one, get rid of this basketball/down hill skiing footy, and kick longer too tall options.

The start of a new Bulldog era and dynasty.
Finish on top of the ladder, for the first time ever.
Bulldogs as Premiers.(First of a 3peat)
Willy as Premiers.
All of our Kids improve greatly.
Coony runner up to Griff in Brownlow.
Johnston,Acker,Welsh, Hahn Murphy, Guido and Minson all kick over 50 goals each for the season.
Cooney win Leigh Matthews Award.
Richmond finish 9th.
Nathan Brown retires after re-injuring leg and admits biggest mistake he made was to leave us.
9 Hawks players submit 3rd positive sample.
Melbourne wins wooden spoon. (is that a oxymoron)

and my Kids succesfully defend this years Grand Final win.

Probably not, but realistically he isn't going to be a 50+ goalkicker. If Will could kick 30 goals next year and continue to improve his ruck work I think that would be a pretty good return.

We cant win the flag in 09 with the same game plan and setup as last season.

Based on what?

We were innaccurate kicking away from a grand final, and our game plan and setup got us to 3rd on the ladder with considerable injury concerns.

What's stopping us from winning the flag?

In 2009, I want to see................ Penelope Cruz in the nude.

Barak Obama save the world.

Cooney back to back Brownlow.

Ian Collins confess publicly his personal motives for rubbing out Chris, and Chris receiving a retrospective Brownlow. Robert Harvey, bravely and Humbly concede the medal, and the record books changed forever. Collins, meanwhile would be exiled to a penal colony in Bass strait for the term of his natural life. With regular floggings for his role in the Bulldogs deal at Docklands.

Bulldogs win the flag.
Johnno. Norm Smith.
J. Grant. Coleman medal.
Murphy, Griffen, Coon, Harris, Higgins, Hill. All Australian.
Ward. Rising Star.

The Rolling Stones release a decent album.

Elvis come out of hiding and perform live via satellite from Braybrook hotel.

Reality TV as a concept die a sudden death.

Dogs lay the foundations for home games v Dockers and Port. (and Demons) at the Whitten Oval.

Someone somewhere produce an electric car that looks and sounds like an RT Charger.

Rain.

A red hot crack at the flag

Massive membership boost

One of our young guns develop into a a key forward

Cooney pisd at the brownlow again

Cooney out rucking Dean Cox again

Goals a plenty Brian Lake, maybe Tom Williams can be his relief when appropriate.

A Everitt to begin his road to the premier CHB in the competition

And finally...

Big Will to accidentally rip out one of n browns arms and beat penny pincher Jordy with it, then feed to bloody pulp of a stump to plow... Or just richmond finishing 9th again and a rewatch of the Brown leg break...

And for xmas... my liver to recover and realise its full potential

Over the space of the finals series, perhaps.

On the night, we had more than enough chances to get in front and stay there.
