Slaps:

Past the obvious slaps:

Aker - Doesn't get as much of it as he used to, but boy he is good when he gets it
Eagle - Some of his kicking today was sublime
WBFC - For not completely shitting themselves when a team came back hard.
Hill - Good four quarter effort
Picken - I was unsure abour rookieing him, i love to be proven wrong.

Sledges:

Many - Butchering the forward 50 entires in the final quarter.
Goal Posts - They seem a little wider I reckon

Slaps:

Backline. Were peppered in 3rd & 4th quarters, worked extremely well together.
Lake - BOG. Awesome
Williams, Morris, Hargrave, Harbrow - Did I mention how much I thought the backline played well?
Eagle - Not far off our BOG first half
Ward - On the week McMahon is dropped, showed he is classy in close
Griffen - Gun. Just shaded Boyd as our best midfielder.

Whilst I didn't give Eagle a vote in the awards it was one of his better efforts today and it should be acknowledged.

Slaps Acker he was tremendous
Slaps- Lake tremendous game, hard to believe that idiot on SEN [Mark Stone] rated Lake as a battler:p:p
Slaps- Griff - sublime skills that 3rd quarter was terrific.
Slaps picken- tremendous debut to nulify our bogeyman.
Slaps- The 22 for not throwing away a game that we would have lost even 12 months ago

Sledge- The North di**head behing the goal Punt Rd end and his rant on the Western Suburbs. Typical supporters of a team who represent nothing.
Sledge- Laidley doing a Wallace and whining about how much experience is gone from his side. he even included players like Brown who he de-listed.
Sledge- I thought we overused the ball in the conditions at times.

Is Ryan Hargrave invisible? Talk about underrated he was brilliant today and got 5 more contested possessions than any other player on the ground.

Slaps-

Lake
Hargrave
Boyd
Cross
Aker
Johnson
Picken
Hill

Sledges-

Alwyn Davey for butchering the last leg of my multi bet. Had Essendon over 39 points and he killed a scoring chance in the last 20 seconds. They only won by 38 points.

Guido- Had a rare bad day I thought. Was still ok though

Couldn't squeeze in Griff? :) Maybe he is invisible as well.

Just forgot him. He was very good I thought. Just a bulldozer in the wet with his low centre of gravity.

Goal snap from the boundary line in the first quarter not good enough?

I gave him 3 votes in the Woof awards , behind only Lake. Should get his first career Brownlow votes today. Brilliant.

Goal snap from the boundary line in the first quarter not good enough? I am a big guido fan but his head wasn't in it today. Fumbled a few more than normal.

I think Rawlings did a good job on him but he still should have been better.

Slap: Griff's little thru ball in the centre of the ground. Saw team-mates running past and dribbled the pill through traffic. Magic.

Slaps

Lake: Sensational game. Still improving. Should push for All Australian this year.
Picken: Harvey normally destroys us. Great first game.
Griffen: Is there a better sight in footy than when he is running with the pill and taking blokes on?
Johsnon: What more can you say? He still has some petrol left in the tank.
Cross & Boyd: Both fantastic again. Never stop running or trying.

Sledges

Hill: No denying his obvious talent. But when its your turn to go, you have to go.
Hahn: Thought today's conditions would have suited him, but could not get going.

I wonder when opposition coaches will try to nullify his freedom?

I wonder when opposition coaches will try to nullify his freedom?

It's one of the advantages of being constantly under-rated.

Did Rawlings start on him? I saw Rawlings on Griffen and Higgins also

He's the one the choose to let kick it, and you cant blame them when you have Gilbee and Hargrave to cover

Do you have a specific passage of play in mind with this comment?

I doubt they'd be too worried about Lake's kicking, more how marks almost anything inside their forward 50 when loose.
