On the news they just reported that Aker has the flu along with a few other players. He was apparently in the change rooms of some Rugby game where players are being tested for Swine Flu!

Great.

Melbourne certainly seems the worst hit. Perhaps a week of fishing up in Darwin after the weekends game is on the cards? ;)

this is what i know based on what Aker says
he had it mid last week and played on the weekend
Went to Dr said he will be fine, nothing to worry about

I was more worried when he said "half the team". But maybe that is just Aker's humour.

Let me bring up one word. Dedication. I have never, been late. Also, I have never missed a day due to illness. Even when I had walking pneumonia. :D

Aker was at the airport today. He is fine. Just saw the footage on 10 news.

Went to a wheelchair basketball game tonight... latest round of Women's National League... some players from Sydney were watching a game, complete with masks..aside from looking ridiculous, they wore them whilst sitting on the sidelines, when it time for their game, the masks came off and they were open to any hint of the swine flu in the air... stupid...

Apparently its not all that bad.

Talking to a mate who got it, he said you have it for two days then your fine.

It's kind of like a souped-up version of gastro. Nothing to serious to worry about. When H1N2 or whatever gets here then we'll be in a bit of strife.

For now. The first wave of Spanish Flu in 1918 was mild too. Danger is that the greater the number of folk who get it -> the greater the chance of mutation into something ugly.



When H1N2 or whatever gets here then we'll be in a bit of strife.

That's H5N1 - kills 60% of infected humans. A blend of that and highly contagious swine flu would be very ugly.
