The Western Bulldogs endured their toughest session of the pre-season with two-hour slog at Ocean Grove beach.

The torturous session included boxing, runs up the sand dunes and various strengthening exercises.

Fitness chief Bill Davoren said it was pleasing every player on the club’s list was available to participate in some form of training as they attempt to improve their fitness levels ahead of next season.

"It’s going to be a pretty tough, pretty solid sort of a session," Davoren said.

"It’s great that all the guys are doing something, so everyone’s in training."

Injury-ravaged defender Tom Williams and strong-willed tagger Liam Picken had been among the most impressive through the pre-season, Davoren said.

The last sentence of the article was music to my ears.

Williams being impressive at training, hope he can keep it up through out 2010 season.

I wonder if Mulligan bought his boogie board?

The best way to stay fit during the year is to have a massive pre-season. Finger's crossed he turns the corner this year, and can keep it up.

He was a late inclusion Rd 1 this year IIRC - based on injury. So if he can go injury free for the pre-season, we might actually get to see him in full flight. The pieces of the puzzle might be fulling into place!

Williams had a very impressive pre-season last time around too, if I recall correctly. It's encouraging that he is fit but I really hope he can turn that into an actual season of football.
