Interpretations are killing the rules

Have found this article from Thomo on ninemsn. I didn't like him as much but he hit the nail on the head with this article:

As a footy fans, we would only asked for consistency in umpiring but get so frustrated with bad decisions week in week out.

In my opinion the Bulldogs is the most unfavorite team with the AFL umpires.

AFL umpires don't have unfavourite teams. We are no less or more favoured than anyone else. Umpires make good and bad decisions. There is also some obvious subconscious bias towards and against certain players at times. Unfortunately they are in a profession where they are noticed when they mess up (and boy did Matthew Nicholls mess up with that call against Mumford). Some are better than others. And most are better than Ray Chamberlain and Stephen McBurney.
It is getting more frustrating with the way games are umpired though. The penalties for minor infractions seem out of scale and i know that I've found watching football to be a less enjoyable experience as a result of this.
