Hi All,

Interesting coincidence i found regarding Jason and his reasons for controversy over his time at the Dogs.

Seems on both occasions his wife's grandfathers have passed away - without doubt a good reason to be off your game, very tough time..

After handstand in 2008:

"On radio Akermanis justified the handstand by dedicating it to his wife's grandfather, who passed away in the week leading up to the Port clash"

After recent story :

"Akermanis kicked the first goal against North but struggled from there on, although after the game he said the death of his wife's grandfather had weighed more heavily on him than the response to his newspaper column"

Hopefully he is back to his best soon and all this is resolved, a fit and firing Aka would be a massive bonus heading into finals.

Maybe it was the same grandfather that has had a lingering effect ;)

Am I missing something? How many grandfathers can one person have?

Who is Aka?

That's how Jason spells it himself in the title of his own biography

Speaking of Akers family members, i didn't like it when his brother came out and put in his 20 cents worth this week, he was doing a similar thing when Aker was in Brisbane, it's just not a great look when family members come out in the media [although i'm sure the media do goto them for their comments].
