Hey WOOFers,

Just saw in an email from the club that this week there will be past players out on the ground before this weeks game V Brisbane.

Just for a bit of fun - who would you like to see out there?

For me it's pretty easy - FOSSIE!! :D

Think it was '84. He was the White Knight from SA who played a whole 1 game for us.

Because I'm lazy this is Wiki's summary of the John Riley story. Can just remember the huge raps on him.

He was lured to the VFL in 1984 when Footscray signed him and made his first appearance in the opening round of the 1984 VFL season, with eight disposals in a win over Richmond. However had had not been granted a clearance by North Adelaide and the club were successful in getting a Supreme Court injunction to prevent him playing more games at Footscray.

Riley finished the season with North Adelaide and remained with the club until 1990, amassing 250 games. After playing in their 1985 and 1986 Grand Final losses, Riley was on the half back flank when they won the 1987 premiership decider. He was later named at the same position in the North Adelaide 'Team of the Century'

Cheers sounds like he could play a little

On a side note because i am lazy and can't be bothered looking it up but did Peter Quill come runners up in the B&F one year?

I'll raise you, Allen Jakovich.

7 games, 29 kicks, 16 marks, 7 goals, 14 behinds, 0 tackles, 8565 doughnuts and 1 win in a season that almost cost the club its very existence!

All for the small cost of a first round draft choice when a couple of hacks called Barry Hall and Daniel Bradshaw were still in the draft.

We certainly picked the best forward then. Let's bring him back for a reunion.

Speaking of one-gamers costing a high draft pick:

So which players came along? On tv there was a fleeting glimpse of the team running past them but too quick to recognise anyone, and naturally no mention at all from the commentators .

I may be mistaken but I think I saw NB in the Richmond rooms after their win. Is this likely? (I've just about forgiven Richmond now that NB and TW are gone ;))

Yeh, he's a Richmond man now. They can have him.

On the topic of saviours, pity Jade Rawlings is a coach at Brisbane or else he should have been front and centre.
