I hope the Bulldog cheer squad is at that end, or more importantly that the Collingwood cheer squad isn't.

I can't believe this but i'll be in the lounge room at my parents house.
Trust my wife and father to have their birthdays on the same day when the bulldogs are in a final.

This will be the first Melbourne final i have missed since 85.

I could certainly use the cash as finals are ridiculously expensive these days, especially when the side you barrack for never wins a qualifying final, making you fork out the cash for a semi final as well, then a prelim.

The thought of it all makes me feel ill in the stomach. If this is the greatest game ever and I miss it i will not be happy.

Doesn't matter where you are sitting, there's a better than even money chance you will be copping that. Which incidentally is why I never go to Collingwood games anymore unless they are finals.

Seeing these inbred ignorant morons flooding the exit aisles halfway through the last qtr of the 2006 EF remains one of my favourite football memories. What I wouldn't give to see that again this Saturday night.

They are apparently unable to take bookings for wheelchair bays. Can't quite figure out why, but that's it. It's the same for other major venues e.g. Rod Laver Arena. Very frustrating (actually thinking of stronger terms but I'll refrain!) when it's the only option and you can't get through.

THIS!!!!!

Spent 20 mins on hold this arvo, finally got through. The woman reliably informed me the club members sale finished yesterday. So I "calmly" informed her I'd tried for 2 days to get through. They must think all disabled people are happy to spend hours on the phone. She tells me there's probably wheelchair seats available but they'll have to call me back - in the next 2 hours! They call as I'm driving off from work. I ring back, and they 'have no record' of my previous call!!!:mad:. So I spend another hour on the phone, getting through to one bloke after 45 mins who tells me I've rung the wrong number (the one they gave me!). After sailing round the world and back again, I get a ticket in M53, row NN.

Joke is right, Mantis.

Just a quick note guys if your wondering if your seats are undercover as it looks like a wet night for the game, i emailed communications@mcc.org.au and asked whether my seat (lvl 2a southern p section) was undercover and they responded with a prompt friendly response letting me know. Unfortunately for all of us in 2a bring the wet weather gear. Response below.

"Thanks for your email and believe me not at all strange! We get many
people asking the same question.

All bays on Level P of the southern stand are not situated undercover so
it would be wise to bring along your wet weather gear!

We hope you enjoy the match.

I'll be sitting in front of my computer as ESPN3.com will be showing the match starting at 4.20am Chicago time. I'm going to bed in an hour or so and get up at about 4am. I just made some sausage rolls, using a recipe adapted by ex-pats using ingredients found here. I made some for the NAB Cup Grand Final and they turned out OK. I also have five bottles of James Boag Premium lager left from a trip to Cincinnati in April so I'll be having one of them too. A few hours after the match concludes I'm heading off to Kansas City Missouri to a theme park to ride some roller coasters. Not bad for a 58 year old, eh? ;)

If we beat Collingwood, I'll definitely fly in for the PFs and GF. If we lose I'll probably postpone my trip until the start of the 2011 season. If we lose we'll be playing Saturday evening next weekend. That match will conclude just a few hours before I'm due to fly out, and I just don't want to wait until the last minute to make a decision. Even if we'd win that match, I'm not too sure we'd beat St Kilda in a PF. So the dice are set to roll on how we do against the Magpies. The only two losses I've seen in the nine matches I've been to during my Melbourne visits have been against Collingwood in 2002 and Round 1 this year. I haven't been to a game where we've beaten Collingwood since Round 9 in 1999.

I really, really want to fly to Melbourne next weekend, so c'mon Doggies!
