Also, pleasing to see young Shane Edwards finishing up in 6th. Going to be a player.

No, the sides that miss out on the finals try to get them done & dusted quickly, whereas the finals teams do them early October.

They all try to have them wrapped up before trade week.

Their function is going ahead at the same venue, just not gonna be the B&F.

Would lose them big bucks to miss out on their biggest function of the year I suspect. They can just give it to Goddard anyway.

I think Geelong will be alright next year.

Come the start of the 2011 season:

Joel Selwood - 22yo
Gary Ablett - Gone
James Kelly - 27
Corey Enright - 29
Paul Chapman - 29
Jimmy Bartel - 27
Cameron Ling - 30
Steve Johnson - 27
Travis Varcoe - 22
Matthew Scarlett - 31

Just 2 of their top 10 are under 26 and they have quite a few other 'oldies' who are regular best 22 members:

Joel Corey - 29
Josh Hunt - 29
Brad Ottens - 31
David Wojcinski - 30
Cameron Mooney - 31
J-Pod - 29

They are getting old and taking out their best player means that others (Selwood & Chapman) will draw the best taggers now.

I think they might drop away a bit.

Not disagreeing they might drop away a bit, but I think their list will still be thereabouts for a top 4 spot, with Bomber going (gone?) now that may also work against them.

They do have some promising younger players coming through, and have Harry Taylor and a few other solid players still in that 24-28 bracket.

Barlow would have gone very close in his first year of senior football.

Stephen Hill is a jet and is probably the young player I'd add to the Bulldogs line up if I had one pick.

Yep, really enjoy watching Hill play. He glides across the turf and has an awesome left boot. Definitely one of the best young mids in the game, the sky's the limit for him.
