Extract from Akers Book:

Kevin Sheedy labelled the Bulldogs ''a shit club'' when Akermanis told the then Essendon coach of his choice, a fact Akermanis used to motivate his Bulldogs teammates each time they played the Bombers.


I wonder if this is the rubbish peddled by arrogant clubs like Essendon. I have never liked Essendon as a club and they have a history of hating us.

What would you expect Sheedy to say in the circumstances.

"That's great Jason, you prefer them to us because they're such a terrific club they're much better than us and you've made a wise choice."

His ghost writer was really grabbing at anything that wouldn't get a writ slapped on them as soon as the book was published and this was about the best they could come up with

What is Sheedy expected to say "They are a better club than us enjoy your time there"?
If he had asked me , I would have said they are all shit clubs except for us.
