Why if this kid is so good as a lot of woofers suggest, does he not dominate at VFL level, I admit that he will be a stand out at Balmain, but he did not show much whilst he was here. Move on and good luck to him and also for the replacement for Andres.

That was fast - normally we have to wait until the last day or 2 for the cards to start falling.

I am not very happy about losing Dre though - he has unlimited potential, and once he matures mentally could become a Goddard type force in the AFL.

If you don't want discussion, a forum is a bad place to be. What's wrong with discussing the official trades in the Official Trades thread?

There's a lot of people on WOOF who delight in telling everybody else what to post.

Thoughts on whether or not the dogs will use the pick we gained in this deal?

We might use the pick for one of our rookie upgrades, especially if we plan on upgrading both Moles and Hooper.

Thoughts on whether or not the dogs will use the pick we gained in this deal?

I think we will as a late speculative pick. We've had out- Johnson, Eagleton, the tosser, Callan, Thorne, Everitt, most likely Hill and Stack, and you'd think at least 2 of Tiller/Mulligan/Boumann- That's 10

In we have- Wallis, Libba, Veszpremi, most likely Moles, Hooper, and possibly Djekurra, Sherman, and/or Walker- That's possibly 7-8.

So we'de have probably 3 draft selections after the F/S picks, so a late 4th rounder is a good chance to get a run.

Our rookie upgrade selections will be with our very last picks .

If we have 6 picks our rookie upgrades will be with our 7th & 8th rd selections.

At present our picks look something like (don't quote me on exact pick numbers, but I hope you catch my drift):

22- Wallis
40 (??) - Libba
58 - ??
73 (Everitt deal pick) - ??
74 - ??
etc..

110 - Moles??
126 - Hooper??

Understand that, wasn't sure how many players we're actually going to take in the draft and how many picks we'll get prior to #73 for players such as Hill, Stack, Minson etc so at this stage #73 could be our 4th pick or even our last pick.

Same.

I read somewhere they want a pick between 10-20 for Walker. Ridiculous. They know they won't get it, so it keeps him at the club ... but what's the point in keeping a player that clearly wants to leave?

ANDREW Krakouer will play for Collingwood next year in an historic sign-and-trade deal to be announced on Thursday.

Krakouer, 27, will be passed on to the premier by the Gold Coast, which will name the former Richmond goalsneak as one of 10 pre-listed players.

The Magpies will give pick No. 25 to Gold Coast.

Pick #25?

Wow.

He was crap at Richmond and whilst there's little doubt he's improved, it should be remembered that;

a) Big step up from state level footy to AFL
&
b) He'll be 28 next year

Not worth it IMO.

Trades at the moment:

Collingwood gain: Andrew Krakeour, Jonathon Ceglar, third-round draft selection (No.55), fifth-round draft selection (No.78) and sixth-round draft selection (No.95)
Gold Coast gain: Pick 25

Collingwood have killed it in that trade ^^^ IMO.

Dogs gain: Djerkurra
Cats gain: Pick 57

Hawks gain: David Hale, pick 52
North gain: the Campbell Brown compo pick, pick 71

Gold Coast gain: Brennan, the compo pick for Brennan (end of first round), pick 10, pick 48
Brisbane gain: Picks 5, 25 (the pick GC got out of the Krakeour trade), 27, Rowan Bewick

North gain: Ben McKinley
WC gain: Pick 86

LostDoggy

They already tried Edwards as a medium sized 'key' forward from West Coast, and he was basically a failure, despite showing intermittent bursts of talent. I predict McKinley will be similar.

I guess they just need a presence in their forward line...Warren is developing into a biggish guy, and Hansen can go down there, but an extra wouldn't hurt.

Theres a fair few angry Richmond supporters out there at the minute, from all reports Collins has a great attitude, is courageous and absolutely bleeds yellow and black. In return they have grabbed an under achieving, big head who has done very little.

Yep, strange move by the Tiges. Collins showed a lot this year, a heck of a lot of potential there.

Grigg, not a huge fan of him. Still has the potential to be a win-win, but at the moment you'd say the Blues have got a fair advantage.

I think Richmond will be the winners out of this trade. Yeah Collins shows a lot of courage but Grigg has way more natural ability than Collins. I would take Grigg over Collins every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Not sure why the blues would want Collins, they already have Betts, Gartlett & Yarren up there.

Collins will fit Carlton nicely. They have a lot of players who tend to bomb the ball aimlessly into their forward fifty, but Collins is very good at spotting up targets. He'll be an important asset to them if he keeps improving for this reason alone.

I'd be ticked off if I was a Richmond supporter. Collins was becoming a real cult hero alongside Jack Riewoldt, and displayed plenty of courage in that game against Sydney at the MCG when he was knocked out and came back minutes later to boot the winning goal. He's not quick, but he's smart with the ball in hand. I thought his development was a huge plus for the Tigers this season.

Even if Grigg is better, it's not by much. Just a bit of a nothing trade with the potential to cause harm IMO.
