Although its been a horrible year, I'm looking forward to going along to B&F night.
Anyone else going?

I'm really hoping Bob Murphy can win the Charlie Sutton Medal - I think it would be befitting of his career to be known as a 'Club Best and Fairest winner' and he has had an exceptional season in a backline thats been more under the pump and undermanned than in previous years.

Agree Ozza, Bobs year has been outstanding. His leadership in defence should bode well when the votes are handed out.

Yeah he will probably get it but I would love to see Bob Murphy being rewarded, he has had a great season, thanks to no major injuries.

He's had a few quiet games towards the end of the season but I think Griffen will still be in the lead.

Really hope Murphy wins ours. By far our most influential player.

Would GC be disappointed with Harbrows output?

Yeah, I thought that too, particularly given his second half of the year. Bit of a worry though that Daniel Rich can't crack a top 10 finish.

It will be very interesting to compare the age of their top 10 to our's after our votes are released.

At the very least I would think that bar Griffen all of our top 5 will be over the age of 28.

It clearly means they have a young list, but do you think most of them will make good on their potential?

ps. Dustin Martin is a monster. Would love a player like that in our colours.

Didn't Joel Corey miss a few with injury as well? Gun player.

Neil Balme was explaining on SEN this morning they award players votes in every game based on their performance, but at the end they remove the 4 worst performances for the year, this takes out the element of games missed because they were planning to rest some players periodically and they didn't want this to penalise them on B&F night, and it also helps players who missed games through injury.

Gee, thought Nate Fyfe would have won at Freo, but its a 6th B&F to Pav.

Here are the top 10:

144 Matthew Pavlich
141 Nathan Fyfe
118 Greg Broughton
103 Luke McPharlin
102 David Mundy
98 Aaron Sandilands
94 Stephen Hill
88 Antoni Grover
83 Hayden Ballantyne
72 Chris Mayne

Didn't Mundy get injured in about round 6?

Darren Glass won a thrilling vote count last night in Perth to claim the Eagles B&F. Glass tied on 398 votes with Matt Pridis but played 1 game less, so he wins on average, with Dean Cox 1 vote back.

The top 10 are:

398 Darren Glass
398 Matt Priddis
397 Dean Cox
374 Shannon Hurn
359 Luke Shuey
342 Adam Selwood
338 Nic Naitanui
333 Andrew Embley
333 Mark Nicoski
332 Scott Selwood

Does it not seem illogical to punish the guy who played more games?
Surely just award a tie.
Maybe Priddis had a bigger bonus in his contract if he won the B&F

Matthew Boyd wins the 20111 Charles Sutton Medal.

The top 10 are:

140 Matthew Boyd
130 Robert Murphy
99 Ryan Griffen
84 Callan Ward
81 Dale Morris
74 Daniel Cross
72 Daniel Giansiracusa
66 Lian Picken
51 Barry Hall
42 Lukas Markovic
42 Shaun Higgins

I guess this reflects where our list is at -- the major concern being that of the only two players on that list that can be considered 'young', one plays primarily as a tagger and the other has moved to Sydney's west.

I suppose Markovic is young-ish but will probably never be a superstar, and Higgins is only young if you go by his birthdate -- he's old if you go by his injury-wracked body.

Glad Griff looks to have a few years left in him though.
