Al Paton - Herald Sun - 6 September

RISING Star Award winner Rhys Palmer is set to join GWS after walking out on Fremantle.

Palmer, 22, has told the Dockers he wants to seek better opportunities elsewhere.

He has played 54 games since making his debut in 2008 but has struggled with injury since his breakout first season was rewarded with the Rising Star Award.

Rumours have linked the left-footer to the Giants for weeks.

He is widely expected to be one of four young stars to join the new franchise, along with Callan Ward, Demon Tom Scully and Adelaide's Phil Davis.

Isn't he a inside/outside (mainly inside) midfielder with questionable skills? I think we have enough of them thanks.

He signed a long long time ago, Fremantle don't even care. He'll generate a pretty decent compensation draft pick, and they think it'll be a win for them.

While its likely that Brogan will go, not sure I'd be investing my faith to heavily in 'Rooch'. He's a muppet of a journalist.
