NAB Cup prize loses lustre
Mark Stevens - Herald Sun - 9 May
THE NAB Cup has lost its financial shine, with Saturday night's victor taking home just over half of the bounty awarded to St Kilda in 2008.
The Saints or the Western Bulldogs will be $180,000 richer, with the runner-up receiving $120,000.
Yet St Kilda collected $350,000 two years ago for winning the pre-season competition.

Re: NAB Cup prize loses lustre
'Johnson trained yesterday, but coach Rodney Eade said he needed to complete another session tomorrow to finalise his place in the team.
"If there's any queries, we won't play him," Eade said.
Even if Johnson does play, it will be as a substitute, with Eade last night confirming the 33-year-old would play only 30-40 minutes against the Saints.
If Johnson does not get up for Saturday night, he is in danger of missing the season-opener against Collingwood.'

My mail is that Johnno might miss another week, but is still a very good chance to play rd1.

Re: NAB Cup prize loses lustre
this was ruined by that pompous obnoxious ex Stkilda failure Thomas having his players looking like they are attending a funeral a few years back. I think the death knell was sealed that year!!!
