Re: 2020 Draft Points Thread
I must admit that a lot of this goes right over my head.
Your other posts on drafting I just glaze over and that's me trying to comprehend not your posting.
But this post actually makes more sense to me.
Thank you. :)

I too would be lost without your threads on picks/points, trading, drafting, etc. I have been lazy to not go into it and work out the mathematics of it all, I just rely on you. Keep up the good work. :)

Re: 2020 Draft Points Thread
Looking at other options for a 2020 second rounder... Fremantle.
They have picks 6, 24 & 78.
Say they get pick 5 from St Kilda for Hill, but have to hand back pick 24. After using picks 5 & 6 (assuming Kelly goes to WCE as he wants) that leaves them with no draft points for their NGA Liam Henry tipped to be bid on the teens. That's about 1,000 draft points. Our picks 41 & 46 is about 740 draft points. What they get for Ed Langdon is combined with our traded 740 points and ensures that they pick up Henry with no draft points deficit, and a later pick better than 78.
If they wanted the points this year from Pick 41 & 46, the points equate to Pick 26 on the DVI. Their second rounder might be worth 26-28. So with us using draft points next year, it's essentially a reciprocal draft points trade where both clubs get about the same number of draft points in 2019 (Freo) & 2020 (Dogs). With our recent good trading relationship with Freo, this might be an option if Freo trade pick 24 out for any reason.
Re: 2020 Draft Points Thread
Thank you for this post BT - clearly explains something bloody complex. I was a huge advocate for trading next years pick before reading this.
