From Bevo's tone it sounds to me as though Tim will be having a week off regardless. If Gawn plays he probably gets the best of Tim anyway, If Gawn misses and Preuss plays it is probably a good match up for Sweet in terms of body size and strength.
Tim English has had a scan on his ankle. Will be a wait and see for this week’s game.
Star Bulldog in race against time for date with Demons
WESTERN Bulldogs ruckman Tim English will be racing against time to be ready for the round 13 clash against Melbourne.
English had a scan on his ankle on Monday afternoon after rolling it late in the game against Adelaide.

The talented big man has played every game this season, but it will come down to whether English can get through training on Thursday.
"There is a chance Tim might not be available this week," Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge told SEN.
Potential debutant Jordon Sweet will be in the mix to replace English if required, while veteran Jackson Trengove also looms as an option.
The 203cm Sweet was named emergency in round 12 after a great effort against Brisbane's Connor Ballenden the week prior and held his own against Essendon's Andrew Phillips in recent scratch matches.
The Bulldogs look likely to regain Jason Johannisen from a minor ankle injury, while Laitham Vandermeer and Josh Bruce should be right to go after being managed for the Crows game.
Aaron Naughton will be looking to back up his six-goal performance, despite copping a corkie in the forearm.
Sounds like a few more will be back this week.
Big names in mix to return
The Western Bulldogs could welcome back a host of important players for this week’s crunch game against Melbourne.
Josh Bruce and Laitham Vandermeer (both managed) are set to be available for selection, with Jason Johannisen, Hayden Crozier and Matt Suckling also in the frame to return.
All five completed running and light skills training on the Gold Coast today.
Johannisen missed last week’s win against the Adelaide Crows after picking up an ankle injury mid-week at training.
“He couldn’t get himself up for the game on the weekend but has improved considerably over the last couple of days,” medical services manager, Chris Bell, said.
“He’s re-integrating back into full training and we expect him to be available for this weekend’s clash.”
Crozier has missed the past two weeks with a toe injury, while Suckling has been sidelined for the past three games with a hamstring.
“Both Hayden and Matt have made fantastic improvements over the last couple of weeks,” Bell said.
“Both are re-integrating back into full training. They still have to tick some boxes, but will make a strong case for selection this weekend.”
After a minor ankle injury late in Sunday’s game, ruckman Tim English remains in the frame to face the Dees.
“Tim’s doing everything he can to improve the swelling and normalise his ankle strength and function,” Bell said.
“We’re going to leave out decision on Tim’s availability until the back-end of the week.”

We must be enjoying the Hub life as its the shortest injury list I can remember down at the dogs.
Cordy, Suckling in selection picture
The Western Bulldogs could have a selection dilemma – of the good kind – for Friday night’s huge clash against the Geelong Cats at Metricon Stadium.
Key defender Zaine Cordy (pectoral) and experienced utility Matt Suckling (hamstring) could be available, adding further depth for Luke Beveridge’s men after getting through injury-free in an impressive 28-point win against Melbourne.
Both Cordy and Suckling will need to get through training this week to press their cases for recall.
“Zaine has recovered well from his pectoral injury,” medical services manager, Chris Bell, said.
“He still has to tick our final strength measures, but he’s on track to fully train towards the back-end of the week. At this stage, we expect him to come up and be available for this weekend’s game.
“Matt completed a game-like rehab session on the weekend.
“This was his final session in his return from a hamstring injury. He’ll come back into full training this week, and if he gets through as we expect, will put his hand up for selection.”
In some more good news, Taylor Duryea is expected to return through this week’s scratch match.
The 29-year-old has yet to play any football this year, due to off-season surgery followed by a nagging quad injury.
“Taylor has shown great determination and mental resilience,” Bell said.
“He’s built some continuity in his training and ticked all of our boxes. I’m glad to see Taylor’s in line to return to availability through the match simulation game this weekend.”
However, two young guns have suffered minor injury setbacks.
Both Rhylee West and Callum Porter will be sidelined due to groin injuries, for the next two-to-three weeks.

3 players unavailable, all considered on the fringe. Easily the healthiest we've been at this point of the season for a long time.
