Re: Player Contract Status
A Bulldog great obviously, but I won't be surprised if we're looking back on this at the end of 2022 and thinking it was at least a year too long.

Clearly it is dependent on $$ but he keeps experience around the club.
Contract could be dependent on games played etc and we just don't know that detail.
Having Wood occupy a list spot should not impede us.

One year would be an insult. Deserves two years
Re: Player Contract Status
So long as he's used exclusively as our clamp-down defender on the opposition's most dangerous small forwards, I'm cool with this. We don't exactly have great options for this role and he's proven to be good at it. There are plenty of very dangerous small forwards in all the top 8 teams from this year - he'll have plenty of match ups to concentrate on.

Plenty of +30 year old players sign year to year contracts. Bachar Houli signed a 1 year contract last year, will sign another soon, is that an insult? Unfortunately the end can come quickly. Perhaps a trigger for a second year would have been a middle ground.

I agree, for whatever reasons with injury etc, Easton is certainly not the player he was in 2016. I would’ve said a one year contract with a 2nd to be triggered if he played half the games.

True, but he is a premiership captain, something we haven't had too may of.

We need to be more ruthless than this. He will very likely just suck funds in 2022.

I doubt he is on big dollars.

Thanks for the chuckle.
Have you seen the state of our un-contracted players and heck even our contracted ones on 3+ year deals.....
Seriously need to move on 11 of those out of contract players.
Re: Player Contract Status
I've not been as critical of him as others, but he's probably a little fortunate to be getting two years. I guess when you're a premiership captain fortune such as this is more likely to be bestowed upon you.

"He'll be back at the Dogs in 2021, and happily so. Terrific bloke, he works really hard. We are just waiting for a bit of luck for him to string some games together. Credit to the Bulldogs, they respect Lin and want to see him in full flight"

Being reported as a one year deal which is sensible given his injury history. He is due for a change of luck.
Re: Player Contract Status
The Bulldogs have a number of players still unclear on their futures, although Taylor Duryea is in talks for a new deal.
