Bulldogs nurturing their promising pups

JACK Johnson is on the Western Bulldogs' radar. Not the American surfer/guitarist, the five-year-old son of Brad, the recently retired Dogs captain. So, too, is Riley Morris. He is two.
The pair are on the list of 23 pups who are, theoretically at least, available to the Dogs under the father-son rule over the next 16 years.
On Thursday, when their names are read out at the national draft, Mitch Wallis and Tom Liberatore will officially join the club their fathers played for.
Advertisement: Story continues below In a time of diluted drafts due to the two new clubs entering the AFL, the fact the club only had to give up the relatively low offerings of picks 22 and 41 to secure them reinforces the value the father-son rule offers clubs.

Interesting kids names chosen by Scotty West.

Rohan Smith's son should also be on that list, he would be about 12 and is showing some promise.

I hope I live long enough to see them all play for the red, white and blue!;)

Likewise Luke Darcy.
Re: Bulldogs nurturing their promising pups
Love a good news story. Any chance of getting Ably Smedts up to 100 games before Thursday?
Re: Bulldogs nurturing their promising pups
Luke Darcy's 2 boys were Sam(4yo in Sept 2007) and Will (5 months in Sept 2007)

Its very clever from many angles
Great of Scotty to have so many boys, well I guess really his wife
Re: Bulldogs nurturing their promising pups
One day there could (long shot I know) be anywhere up to 12 Father-Sons playing in the one team. Heartwarming thought indeed given I saw all bar 1 of their fathers play.

No, it was Scotty who decided whether they would be boys or girls.

Never saw Brian Cordy in the flesh.
Re: Bulldogs nurturing their promising pups
I think Scott has a 4th son - can't remember his name

If I recall parenting classes properly I'm pretty sure that the DNA that allocates gender comes rom the male. So it would have been Scooter (albeit unconsiously) that decided the sex of his kids.
