Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status
Now since it’s announced, I am having mixed feelings about the situation.
Thanks for your time with us and thanks for 2016. Will always remember your dreadlocks since you were running around in the VFL and will remember you as a WB premiership player. Wish you all the best but not when you are playing against us in the future.
Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status
I guess that’s another 450,000 - 500,000 saved for something we have in mind. Bont might be signed up very shortly.
I would say we have Got gowers on a low salary, we should have quite a bit in the coffers looking at retirements. 3 rookies will be upgraded I imagine on low wages as well.
Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status
I love what Dahl has given our club, less recent average form. But 4 years on $550,000 is outlandishly overs based on the last 2 years. We just couldn't match it. So all the best Luke. Thanks. Hopefully end of first round compo. You being there aside, I hope Geelong go shit very quickly. Man I hate them.
Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status
He was a very good player for us and it's a shame that his form dropped after winning the flag.
We put a good deal in front of him but he can obviously do better somewhere else so good luck to him.
Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status
Sure it happens at all clubs, but it’s disappointing seeing a good player in thier prime slump so badly in form and then leave. It could be another Higgins situation and he stars for cats, could not, guess time will tell. Wish him the best but based on last 2 years not disappointed in the club for standing thier ground. He just isn’t worth a 4 year contract to us at the moment.
Looks like the club official statement says just that:
“While the Club is obviously disappointed an agreement could not be reached, the Club maintains an obligation to be balanced in its approach across its entire playing group when making its list management decisions.”

This is what I call good list management.
Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status
I'd have left out the reference to 'balanced in its approach' to list management.
It's just too easy to pick holes in, both now, in the past and in the future.

Agree. I nearly choked on my corn flakes.
Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status
I just received a birthday message from Caleb Daniel, Shane Biggs and Luke Dahlhaus. I have to say it felt slightly hollow!

Agreed. I think it’s worded how it is for the masses. I find most footy fans need to be told exactly what their opinion is.

Seems to have lost a little speed as well.
