Re: Rate the 2017 retirees
Riewoldt, Hodge, Mitchell.
Riewoldt is one of the most phenomenal players of all time, and totally changed what is expected of a power forward. His marking statistics are eye-popping and his work rate has been unparalleled.
There's a big temptation to say "but FLAGS" and put Hodge ahead, but no one in this generation has had the impact of Riewoldt.
Still a rape culture enabling scumbag, but a breathtaking footballer.
Re: Rate the 2017 retirees
Riewoldt, Hodge and Murphy
Re: Rate the 2017 retirees
Morris, Murph, Boyd. never heard of the others.
Re: Rate the 2017 retirees
Hodge, Riewoldt, Mitchell
Re: Rate the 2017 retirees
Riewoldt, Hodge, Murphy if he makes the call.
If not I'm nominating Stevie J. For no other reason than he's the only one with a footballing skill named after him.

Boyd is the more decorated player, but I think Murphy has been a slightly greater player overall in terms of his ability to influence games and influence & lead his team mates. Certainly if you consider the player who oppositions would be more wary of and plan to stop - Murphy would be the one.

Murph is definitely the more aesthetically enjoyable footballer. I've certainly sworn at Boyd a lot more over the journey but he was an absolute champion for us.
Can't disagree with Riewoldt, Hodge and Mitchell as the top 3. Not sure how to split Hodge and Riewoldt though.

Was talking about this last night.
Boyd has club B&F's, more AA selections and a premiership - but most would have Murphy ahead. Tough question.
