Just read Naughton back to full training just after Xmas.
Where’s Bailey Smith?
Might head to that pre Christmas family day again hopefully this time to catch the training session as last year I went but missed it.
Looks like Bulldogs media bought a drone on pre season break.
Don't know what good those far away shots do!!!
A Herald Sun update on preseason (link below for other clubs). I still haven't seen or heard anything about Bailey Smith. Hasn't appeared in any photos with the 1-4 year players. Is he injured?
WESTERN BULLDOGS
Senior players are not due back until next week although newlywed JOSH BRUCE and ALEX KEATH – the two big recruits – are set to make an early appearance on Monday. Keath has already been spotted completing his rehabilitation at Whitten Oval although the intercepting backman won’t be in full training until January, having undergone surgery on a stress fracture in his ankle that was diagnosed during his medical examination before trade period. Likewise, AARON NAUGHTON (knee) and TOM LIBERATORE (knee) won’t be in full training until after Christmas. MITCH WALLIS suffered a similar injury to Keath and will be on a modified program when his pre-season begins on November 25. LACHIE HUNTER enjoyed a kick with BAILEY DALE last week despite undergoing a post-season shoulder reconstruction. Hunter will be able to complete running and ball work but is unlikely to partake in any contact drills until January. WILL HAYES has stacked on 3kg of muscle while ruckman TIM ENGLISH was the star of this week’s circular beep test running. JACKSON TRENGOVE has also enjoyed a headstart on training.

Josh Bruce and Alex Keath married one another?
No wonder they wanted to be at the same club, although I wouldn't want to work with any of my partners, lovely though they all were!
Keath started rehab earlier than expected which is a good sign.
He has family in the Western Suburbs so settling in won't be a problem.

Major open training times for 2019-20
The Western Bulldogs will host four major open training sessions for fans across 2019-20, starting with a Christmas open session next month.
These sessions will replace the traditional Family Day event.
They will be split across the pre-season and in-season, with the intention of having players more accessible to fans.
Christmas open training will be a joint AFL-AFLW session, from 8.30am to 9.30am on Saturday 14 December, with player signings from 9.30am.
A further pre-season session will be held in early February, on the eve of the AFL season, plus a morning session in May and a school holiday opportunity in June.
2019-2020 Open Training Sessions
* Saturday 14 December 2019 – Joint AFL & AFLW Training from 8:30am to 9:30am, with boundary line signing from 9:30am
*Saturday 8 February 2019 – AFL Training from 9am to 10am, with boundary line signing from 10am
*Tuesday 26 May – timings TBC
*Tuesday 30 June – AFL Training from 10am to 11am, with boundary line signing from 11am
*Note – player availability and dates/timings are subject to change
Might try and go to that February one which is the time of year the old family day used to be on. Closer to the season as well.
Hope they still hold a training session out east for you too Easty really disappointing if they don't . If they really want 50,000 members you would think they would hold training sessions over the state !!!
A long time ago strebla the whole WB team used to come out east each year to do a training session for fans. These days it's only really a few players who come out to do the kids clinic. Certainly would be great if they brought back the older format. I have been to the Whitten Oval now a number of times it is a great train ride to the ground very easy access from the station will need to next get the driving route down pat to the WO in the future but probably better coming by train to not worry about parking.
Butler needs to spend all of his non-training time in the kitchen.
We've been pretty good at building up the draftees quickly. There is always going to be a Fergus Greene that seem to take a long time to fill out but I suspect Butler will be a lot stronger in just 12 months.
In just three years English, Lipinski and Lewis Young have all put on a lot of size and strength. Brad Lynch filled out quickly as well
I think the club does this better than most
Any signs of doing the 2km time trial?

WESTERN BULLDOGS
Established gun: Speedy backman Jason Johannisen's preparations for the 2019 season were derailed by injury but fast forward to the present and the defensive playmaker could hardly be in better shape leading into the Christmas break. Johannisen, who recently became a father, has thrived on an injury-free run and looks likely to break all land-speed records at Whitten Oval.
Gen next: Exciting ruck prospect Tim English will enter his fourth AFL season a more formidable physical presence after adding 5kgs in the off-season to hit the scales at 105kgs. Importantly, the big blonde has added bulk and strength without sacrificing any of the athleticism and endurance that is crucial to his game.
New faces: The training form of former St Kilda key forward Josh Bruce has been so eye-catching that he has Dogs diehards salivating at the prospect of his aerial combination with promising pair Aaron Naughton and Josh Schache. Started his campaign with the Bulldogs' youngsters and has already proven a strong target in match simulation. - Ben Collins
I went to the session this morning and it was good to see so many players looking in picture perfect condition
I talked to a guy who seems to be in the know and he mentioned that Naughton had added some more size and that Bailey Dale was also performing well
I shouldn't go to these sessions as the wait until next season just seems too far away
If we can get Schache, Naughton and Bruce clicking as key forwards we are going to be a handful for other sides
