Based on the WOOF sample size I think he will be welcomed back by the overwhelming majority of our supporter base. He's made a huge mistake and will pay a hefty price because of it but given no one was injured we will get over it quickly
A lot will depend on the way he conducts himself at the press conference
We tend as a whole to throw our arms around someone who’s stuffed up and give them a chance of redemption
I tend to side with someone being able to redeem themselves.

Yep I’m more in this camp as well G. Punished by the club yes but not sacked from the club.

Tyson Stengle suspended for 4 matches and fined $2,500 by the Cows.

That's thrown down the challenge to us now. I like the fact we are being thorough but it might have been better to get ours done first

That really boxes the club in doesn't it? If anything, it makes 5 matches and $5,000 seem about the mark. Yesterday I was arguing for a lot less. Maybe it could be 6 weeks (2 suspended) and $2,500 ($2,500 suspended). Still not sure that will make the AFEL happy with us.

Without knowing all the facts on face value Lachie Hunters incident appears worse than Stengles.
I am sure we won't let Stengles punishment influence ours, but you can be sure the media will link the two.

Stengle was caught at the same reading in an unregistered vehicle and failed to report it so there is just a bit of difference
3 weeks in a reduced season seems about right to me for Hunter

Re: Lachie Hunter charged with Drink Driving
I tend to think Stengle got 2 weeks for the act and another 2 weeks for not telling the club straight away. Only half the $5,000 max fine being a young player on likely a low end contract.
I think 4 weeks and $5,000 fine should be around the mark for Lachie.

I initially thought 3-4 weeks and a fine also.

I think Hawthorn set the bar a few years ago with Hodge. ;)

The Western Bulldogs will hold a press conference at 4:30pm to announce club-imposed penalties for Lachie Hunter.Hunter recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.123 after allegedly hitting four parked cars in Middle Park on Thursday night, before being taken to teammate Billy Gowers’ house by second-year midfielder Bailey Smith.
Reports last night suggested Hunter has voluntarily relinquished his position as vice-captain of the club.
We will soon find out

A remorseful Hunter has wanted to speak for days, but he won't answer questions this arvo. That will be left to CEO Ameet Bains. Instead, Hunter has recorded a video message.
Given the AFL's involvement in this, I'd imagine he receives 4+ weeks.

Absolutely. I couldn't live in a world that differed.
