AFL limiting g interchange is just rubbish

Why has Bedendo been out for half a season, and he's still 4 weeks away?
I have been saying this for years, the caped interchange causes player fatigue and can contribute to tissue injury.
they should increase the interchange number to 5 permanently.
the AFL players association should be all over this, interms of increased injuries to players.
There is an opposing argument to that point. Less interchanges creates more fatigue, which makes the game more endurance Vs explosiveness. If players rest, then they can generate more explosive movements which then creates soft tissue injuries.
For example. I?m never going to pull a hammy in the last few KMs of a marathon. But I?m very chance pulling a hammy at an all out effort over 100m.
Let's just scrap interchange and have 4 permanent subs.

Ed Richards will be sidelined for at least the next month after suffering a hamstring strain in the narrow loss to Geelong on Saturday night.
The defender could feature early after the Club’s bye round with his rehab commencing today.
“Unfortunately, in the third quarter of the game, Ed suffered a hamstring injury,” Head of Sports Medicine, Chris Bell said.
“Scans have confirmed that this is a moderate grade injury.
“Ed has already started attacking his rehab, with us hoping to get him back in the next 4-6 weeks.”
Toby McLean is the other major injury to come out of the weekend, suffering back pain
during the VFL fixture.
“From our VFL game, Toby McLean has suffered some acute low back pain after a tackle,” Bell said.
“Scans have confirmed that he has an area of bone overload in his back that will need some time to settle.
"Once his acute pain improves, we will confirm his return to play plan, but expect him to miss some footy over the next month.”
