Yeah so right GVGjr. They need to put much more effort into this event. Feel sorry for the EW club.
The trouble is it is now run in December and there are many functions on at the same time . Last week it was The Social Club Xmas party, EW this week, new recruits function next week followed by family day.
Need to work out a better calender. EW was always in the new year but clashed with training for some reason .
As you said GVGjr while Ballarat now is the priority as we are playing games and to establish ourselves there and have a great commitment to the western community through our programs such as Sons and Daughters of the West Health, Whitten Project etc we need to make sure we put the effort into events like today for our supporters who may live north or east, south east which what the east west club was created for. We certainly have supporters out this way and always see a good number going in on match days. Bit disappointing Bevo didn’t come down today but will probably see him at the WO fan day next week.
Completely agree. The training and introduction session was great. Gave you a chance to see everyone close up, didn't havr everyone cooped up in tents when you want stuff signed, had a very open informal atmosphere ehich made the players very approachable and hearing the coaches thoughts on the recruits was great.
Now it feels like an obligation the club doesnt want and just assigns a handful of players to as an afterthought.
Public Transport for Saturday for the WB family fun day. Things to be aware of.

Anyone go to the Inside the Kennel event last night in Yarraville? Anything to report?
I've now got the details of who I can write to about the demise of the East West day and will send an email tomorrow. If anyone has some suggestions of what should be included you can add the details here or send me a private message
I was impressed that they would welcome any feedback or suggestions
Hi Easty, a fairly late report (been busy week).
The format followed the usual 'Inside the Kennel' program with MC Kevin Hillier and selected players/coaching staff being interviewed.
The first thing they announced was R West being unavailable on the night due to his end of year school formal, and then Kevin got Sam Lloyd up to speak on his own.
I thought this might struggle to enthuse, but both Kevin and Lloyd himself managed a good conversation to satisfy the attendees which included asking Lloyd about the differences between Richmond and the Dogs pre-season training and what Lloyd hoped to bring to the table as a player.
They then had Hayes, Vandermeer and AFLW Irish recruit Aisling McCarthy.
Again I thought the interview might fall a bit flat without any 'star factor' but pleasantly surprised with Hayes showing his absolute enthusiasm for being recruited, Vandermeer's story (a little bit worried about him having a junior history of 3 broken collar bones) and then the great story of the recruitment process of AFLW Irish prospect Aisling (pronounced Ashley) McCarthy.
The evening finished with the very well spoken Development coach Jordan Russell discussing this year's crop of recruits and what they can expect over their first pre-season.
Didn't really learn anything new, but got to enjoy the opportunity of hearing the very different 'back' stories of the 4 new recruits.

Got an email yesterday from the club. Seems like no family day in February. Quite a number of events in December 2018 including the AGM.
