That's as clear a suspension as I've seen. He assessed the situation, raised the elbow and knocked a player out of the game. You can see the second action, it's clear as day. Imagine if someone like Byron Pickett did that you'd expect a hefty suspension.
Opportunistic from Dangerfield, definitely something I'd have interrogated at the tribunal given there were two actions.
The Long incident and the Danger incident are completely different but both should have ended up suspensions.
Long was a pre-meditated head high snipe and he only avoided 2-3 more weeks because Jacko didn't get knocked out.
Danger's was in the flow of play, the ball and player were in the vicinity, but the elbow up was a separate movement and given the high contact and force of it, should have been a few weeks.
Dangerfield should have been looking at 3 weeks. It was split second stuff, but he made two motions, the first a successful spoil. The second, an arm/elbow into the head of an oncoming opponent. He could have taken the hit. Choose to KO his opponent instead.
