Reckon there's any chance we say "sorry Josh but Port are offering a better deal"? I don't, but would also love if the AFL trade culture headed in that direction.
Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022
Jack Bowes from the Suns has said he wants to explore his options. He has 2 years to go on a contract.
Top-10 pick Jack Bowes is the latest Sun who could be on the move.
It’s believed Bowes, who is contracted for two more seasons, has told Gold Coast he wants to explore his options elsewhere after playing only five senior games this year.
Rival clubs are aware the 24-year-old defender is up for grabs.
Star forward Izak Rankine has requested a trade home to South Australia to play for the Crows, while Brayden Fiorini could be a Magpie next season in a salary dump move.
Moving on from Bowes would also help the Suns’ cap situation and they are not expected to stand in his way.
St Kilda’s Ben Long is set to join Gold Coast on a four-year deal as an instant half-back replacement after Lachie Weller, Wil Powell and Connor Budarick suffered ACL setbacks.

Is he any good though? Fits a need for sure if he can defend

I think he's a good prospect and for what ever reason GC seem to have a few player who don't think they're getting enough of a chance. His best football could easily be over the next few seasons.

Still only 24, so could be one to look at.

I like Bowes. Has traditionally played as a defender, but heading in to this season he was being spoken about for midfield minutes, and then got a significant injury early in the year which limited his early games. Then struggled to get in at the end of the year.
(This is all from research for fantasy drafting)

I was in a super coach draft league competition and there were 3 or 4 of the coaches looking to bring him after his state league form of 28 and 30 possessions but Dew wasn't selecting him.
It would be interesting to see if there has been some clubs sounding him out.

Yes had a shoulder injury which kept him out for awhile

In 2019 he was used as a run with type role and he performed well. That is an attribute that would fit nicely with us if we are prepared to consider that.

Surely St.Kilda are not giving up Hunter Clarke for a second round pick?

He's the best of the 2x before Naughton picks they'd be crazy.
He's had some bad luck with injuries and getting his head caved in.
I'd take him for that.

You wouldn't think so on his ability. A Saints mate wanted a top 10 pick for him.
Is the 2nd round pick the AFL giving them the start of the 2nd round? ie around pick 20?
Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022
Apparently Bowes isn't interested in a move to Essendon but open to a move to Geelong.

Geelong you say?
They've struggled to get players that's a surprise.
Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022
On Bowes, Gold Coast had four top 10 picks in the 2016 draft:
4 Ben Ainsworth
7 Jack Scrimshaw (trade to Hawthorn)
9 Will Brodie (traded to Freo)
10 Jack Bowes (club willing to trade him)
I know the players have to want to play there, but it is out of control. They will never be a premiership threat when they keep losing good young players to other teams.
